Arsenal Transfer News: Aaron Ramsey Eyed in Manchester City Triple Swoop Rumours
Manchester City are planning a raid on Arsenal, hoping to tempt Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta to join the club in differing roles, per Football Insider's Wayne Veysey.
The midfield trio are at varying stages of their playing careers, with City eager to add Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain to their first-team squad. Meanwhile, Arteta, 34, could join the coaching ranks at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of incoming manager Pep Guardiola in June.
Per Veysey, a club source from City has revealed the Champions League semi-finalists want to sign Welshman Ramsey and England international Oxlade-Chamberlain in order to improve their homegrown quota.

Per the official Premier League website, City began the current campaign with just four homegrown players over the age of 21—Joe Hart, Richard Wright, Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph—and are eager to add to that number in order to prevent them from forcibly having their squad size reduced.

Per John Cross of the Mirror, Ramsey has previously voiced his frustration this campaign at being utilised in a wide position rather than his preferred central role. After signing a contract two years ago, the Welsh creative player has failed to replicate the form which saw him score 10 goals in 23 Premier League appearances in 2013-14, per WhoScored.com.
For Oxlade-Chamberlain, the 22-year-old has struggled to secure a first-team slot due to the competition for places at the Emirates Stadium. The former Southampton playmaker has traditionally been selected in a wide role when featuring this term, but he has managed to contribute just two goals in 33 games in all competitions, per WhoScored.com.
Representatives have reportedly told Veysey their player would be open to a move away to either Manchester United or Liverpool after entering the final two years of his contract.
WhoScored.com's Martin Laurence provided the stats to prove Oxlade-Chamberlain's dwindling effectiveness:
Meanwhile, Arteta is primed to depart the north London club at the end of the campaign with the Spaniard yet to be offered an extended deal. Per Veysey, the ex-Everton player is friendly with Guardiola following their time together at Barcelona and would be willing to make his first move into coaching under the future City boss.
The outlook of all three players remains uncertain with the season end drawing closer, but manager Arsene Wenger would be reluctant to allow any of the trio to join one of his perennial title challengers.
Additionally, the French boss is unlikely to want the trend of Arsenal players leaving for City to continue after previous completed transfers of Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure and Samir Nasri.
