This field is loaded with former Masters winners that have spanned over the past five decades. Of the 16 Masters winners in the field, Tom Watson is the eldest statesman, as he picked up his first Masters win in 1977.
Jordan Spieth, last year's winner, will have an opportunity to reassert himself as the best golfer in the world with a strong showing after losing his No. 1 ranking when Jason Day won the WGC-Dell Match Play at the end of March.
A second win at Augusta in two years will not only do that, but it will make him the first golfer since Tiger Woods in 2001-2002 to win the Masters in back-to-back years.
However, there are two golfers, Jason Day and Rory McIlroy, who are ranked in the top three in the world and have an opportunity to win their first Masters.
For McIlroy, a Masters win would complete his career grand slam after he won the U.S. Open in 2011, the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014 and the British Open in 2014.
Day, on the other hand, is looking for his second major win after taking home the PGA Championship in 2015. His best result at the Masters came in 2011 when he finished tied for second.
