Jack Wilshere Contract Talks Reportedly Halted by 'Upset' Arsene Wenger
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's contract talks have reportedly stalled after his alleged involvement in a "row" outside a nightclub on Sunday "upset" manager Arsene Wenger.
According to an exclusive from the Sun's Neil Ashton and Mark Irwin, the 24-year-old had begun "preliminary negotiations" on a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, but following the incident "Arsenal sources claimed Wenger is disappointed and upset with the player over his conduct."
Per Ashton and Irwin, Wilshere also faces a fine of one week's wages from the club, but he "maintained his innocence" when being spoken to by the police.

Here is footage of the incident, which was obtained by the Daily Mirror:
Once hailed as the future of English football, the midfielder's career has been beset by injuries.
Wilshere has been out for eight months with a fractured leg and is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners this season, and he made just 14 Premier League outings for them in their 2014-15 campaign.
The Sun Football revealed the extent of his absences:
Per TalkSport's Jack Austin, England manager Roy Hodgson told Drivetime in March his previous performances in a Three Lions shirt could earn him a place in the squad for the upcoming UEFA European Championship.
That too could be in jeopardy, with the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba reporting Hodgson and the Football Association will give him a "ticking off" and "a reminder about his responsibility" if he is determined to have played a part in any wrongdoing regarding the alleged incident, in which he has been "accused of assaulting a man—claims Wilshere strongly denied."
Sky Sports News HQ also reported Wilshere's denial of the accusations and noted he was due to return to training on Monday as he works his way back to fitness:
It is not the first time he has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, with Ashton and Irwin noting he was fined £40,000 by the FA last June for chants about rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the wake of Arsenal's FA Cup win.
Former footballer Jan Aage Fjortoft questioned his attitude and professionalism:
Indeed, while he did not break any club rules, according to Kajumba, it will undoubtedly come as unwelcome news with his recovery seemingly so close.
A return to action this late in the season might see him struggle to achieve full match fitness before the Euros, but if Wilshere can shake off the injuries that have troubled him throughout his youth, there's still time for him to reach his potential for club and country.
