Liverpool Transfer News: Lucas Vazquez, Mario Gotze, Adam Bogdan, Latest Rumours
Liverpool are reportedly looking at Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez as a possible summer transfer target, while Adam Bogdan is expected to leave the club, and Robert Lewandowski has urged Bayern Munich team-mate Mario Gotze to stay at the Allianz Arena.
According to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro's Max Miller), Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a “fan” of Vazquez, a 24-year-old winger who appears to be on his way out of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spaniard impressed on loan with Espanyol last season but has received limited opportunities since his return to the capital, receiving most of his minutes as a substitute.

Here's a look at some of his top highlights from last season:
Vazquez is a solid depth player for Real, a product of the academy who understands his role and rarely causes distractions by complaining about his playing time.
However, Los Blancos tend not to worry about their fringe players all that much, and they have the budget to replace a player like Vazquez.
The wide man will be a cost-efficient option clubs can sign during the summer window, and the type of transfer that carries few risks and plenty of rewards. If he doesn't stay in La Liga, a move to the cash-rich Premier League makes sense.

But Anfield would make for an odd destination. Klopp was hired to return the Reds to the top of English football, and he'll need star players to help him achieve that goal.
Vazquez isn't a star, or a talented prospect with an incredible upside―he's a solid player who wouldn't challenge for a starting role or present a clear upgrade over the options currently available.
Gotze is the kind of target you'd expect the Reds to chase this summer, but per Joe Rimmer of the Liverpool Echo, Bayern team-mate Lewandowski hopes the Germany international will ignore all of the transfer chatter and stay with the Bundesliga giants:
"He should not be reading what people say about him in the papers. He does not need all the extra pressure.
Mario knows how to deal with it, though. He is used to it. It is silly that there is so much talk about him.
He is a Bayern player, and he has plenty of games left until the end of the season to prove that he is good enough for Bayern.
He has plenty of time to prove his critics wrong. He should stay at Bayern for a long time because he is a great player.
"
Per the report, Gotze is expected to leave Bavaria during the summer in search of a bigger role and a fresh start. The former Borussia Dortmund star moved to Munich in 2013 with plenty of hype, but he has so far failed to live up to the lofty expectations.
A serious injury only made things worse, and since his return to fitness, manager Pep Guardiola has mainly used him off the bench or not at all.
As noted by WhoScored.com (h/t Sky Sports Football), his numbers have taken a dive as well:
The 23-year-old played the best football of his career under Klopp, and a reunion at Anfield is being touted as the perfect way to help him get back on track.
He still possesses all of the talent that made him such a phenomenal prospect, as you can see in the video below:
But Carlo Ancelotti is set to replace Guardiola as Bayern's manager next season, and the Italian may have plans for Gotze. The former Real Madrid boss has always had an eye for talent, and he's unlikely to let the Germany international leave on the cheap.
Finally, Alex Stevens of Football Insider claims back-up goalkeeper Bogdan has “lost the faith” of Klopp, and the club plans to offload him during the summer.

The 28-year-old was replaced by Danny Ward in Liverpool's UEFA Europa League squad, a clear sign his time with the Reds is coming to an end, and rumours he could be on his way out this summer shouldn't come as a surprise.
Liverpool are expected to invest in a new stopper to compete with current starter Simon Mignolet, and with Ward still in the fold, Bogdan will have to leave the club to make room for the new arrival.
