Paris Saint-Germain won their fourth straight Ligue 1 title on Sunday thanks to a 9-0 demolition of Troyes. The victory put Les Parisiens 25 points ahead of second-placed Monaco, who can no longer bridge the gap.

The club's official Twitter account confirmed the news:

Per Sports Illustrated, PSG set a new record, as no club in any of Europe's top five leagues has ever secured the title as early as March 13.

PSG have dominated the French league this season, having lost just once all year. Per the Press Association (for ESPN FC), manager Laurent Blanc's troops carried an unbeaten streak into the campaign and set a new mark at 36 matches before losing to Lyon.

Sunday's victory over Troyes was the icing on the cake. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored four goals, while Edinson Cavani added a brace and missed a penalty. Adrien Rabiot and Javier Pastore also scored, and Troyes defender Matthieu Saunier added an unfortunate own-goal.

Per Squawka Football, the win set a new club record:

Former PSG star Ezequiel Lavezzi, who left the club for China in February, congratulated his ex team-mates on the result and the sixth title in club history:

Cavani also took to Twitter to celebrate:

It's safe to say the PSG experiment has been a rousing success. Qatar Sports Investments purchased the club in 2011, bringing an end to a decade of turmoil and disappointing results, and the sudden influx of cash saw an incredible amount of talent arrive at the club.

Their first title since 1994 followed one year later, and no one in Ligue 1 has been able to break their hold on the domestic league since. In Europe, Les Parisiens have been steadily growing, while their youth squad has done the same with a berth in this year's UEFA Youth League semi-final, per UEFA's official website.

Les Parisiens will make the short trip from Troyes back to the French capital before starting their celebrations in full.
