Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on David De Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo Rumours
Real Madrid are reportedly set to return for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea this summer. He is said to have a release clause of £30 million in his contract at Old Trafford.
Los Blancos left it too late to get a deal done ahead of this season, with the requisite paperwork not submitted before the transfer deadline.
According to Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, despite the previous faux pas, the capital club will move for the Spain international again looking to trigger the aforementioned amount:

"Real Madrid will go [for] David De Gea again. There is already a buyout clause in his contract at £30 million. Real will go for him at that price, that’s for sure. People will question why there is a need to go for De Gea if Keylor Navas is playing so well. But De Gea will be Spain’s No. 1 for the next decade, that’s the quality of ‘keeper they’ll be getting.
"
As we can see here courtesy of Squawka Football, Real are already in possession of a fine stopper in Keylor Navas:
However, after another wonderful season, the Spaniard continues to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers on the planet.
Navas, in fairness, has done so too. But there is something extra about De Gea, and for a club like Real, having a Madrid-born influence at the base of their team for what could well be the next decade would give everyone a huge boost.

Additionally, he’s a player who can turn matches his team’s way with his stunning work between the sticks. As noted by Miguel Delaney of ESPN, De Gea seems capable of pulling off saves which few other goalkeepers would get near:
If there is a £30 million release clause in the player’s contract, then Madrid would be mad not to trigger it. As a young, elite player, De Gea could easily be viewed as worth twice that amount.
While United would be loath to let him go for this sum, they should be content that they’ve kept the 25-year-old at the club for an extra season.
Cristiano Ronaldo Linked to Paris Saint-Germain

According to Jason Burt of the Daily Telegraph, the future of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo could well determine whether or not Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Chelsea man Eden Hazard make moves this summer.
Burt suggested that the French giants will make a decision on whether or not to extend Ibrahimovic’s contract soon, and if he was to leave, they’d chase a “marquee, world-class signing.”
Ronaldo is reportedly their “No. 1 target,” and if he was to move on, Hazard’s camp are hoping Los Blancos view the Belgian as an ideal replacement.

“Initial encouragement that Ronaldo could move to PSG has lessened, although it is believed the Portuguese’s future is in the balance,” Burt added.
Ronaldo netted his 40th goal of the season for Real on Tuesday in the win over Roma. Here is a reminder of some of his best strikes from the campaign so far.
Despite these remarkable numbers, all doesn’t seem well for Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu. The team are struggling, trailing Barcelona by a whopping 12 points in La Liga, and the forward’s frustrations got the better of him after a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid lately. He insisted that his team-mates were not at his level, per Marca (h/t Pete Hall of Sky Sports).
Additionally, as Oliver Kay of the Times noted this week, the Real crowd have directed some ire in the direction of the 31-year-old:
If Real did receive a big-money offer for their talisman, there would be temptations to cash in. Ronaldo is still brilliant yet not the same all-encompassing influence he was when arriving at the club. Also, while he’s likely to continue playing for a while yet, a substantial sum for a 31-year-old makes a lot of smart business sense.
Still, manager Zinedine Zidane would find it difficult to replace a goalscorer like Ronaldo with all the money in the world and has recently insisted that despite some supporters’ frustrations, he wants the Portuguese at the club next year, per Marca.
Losing such an attacking threat would certainly make the coach’s job a lot more difficult.
