Alabama Crimson Tide Praised by President Obama During White House Visit
The Alabama Crimson Tide may have one man in particular to thank for their recent history of dominance.
Nick Saban? Well, perhaps. In this case however, that man is President Barack Obama.
After the NCAA National Championship-winning team paid a visit to the White House for the fourth time in seven years, the Commander in Chief couldn't help but claim a little credit.
But when he wasn't acclaiming his own prowess as a good luck charm, he also doled out plenty of praise.
In addition to the individual kudos he bestowed upon Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry, the POTUS commended the team's dedication to helping their community and their impressive graduation rate.
"Everybody recognizes excellence when they see it, and nobody's had more sustained excellence as a football program at the collegiate level than the Alabama Crimson Tide," Obama said.
With the fortune-bringing president's second term soon coming to end, however, for the sake of Alabama faithful, hopefully the Tide will continue to roll.
