Golden Shoe 2015-16: Latest Standings, Top Goalscorers in Europe on February 29
It was a quiet weekend in the European Golden Shoe stakes, with Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the only players to find the net near the top of the standings, meaning Luis Suarez retains his lead on 50 points.
Lewandowski celebrated Bayern Munich's 116th birthday in style as he once again proved the undoing of Wolfsburg in a 2-0 win for the Bundesliga leaders.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang helped Borussia Dortmund keep pace with the Bavarians as he scored in a 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim.

| T10 | Islam Slimani | Sporting CP | 18 x 2 | 36.0 |

Rules: Every league is given a difficulty rating (between one and two) which is then multiplied by a player's goal tally to determine his points.
For example, the Bundesliga is attributed a constant of two and so Lewandowski and Aubameyang's goals are doubled, whereas Zlatan Ibrahimovic's are multiplied by 1.5 as that is Ligue 1's grade.
Lewandowski and Aubamenyang Race Hots Up
Dortmund may only be hanging onto Bayern's coat tails in the Bundesliga title race as they remain eight points behind their rivals, but Lewandowski and Aubameyang are firmly embroiled in the race to become the German top flight's top goalscorer.
All eyes were on the Pole after he infamously scored five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg earlier in the season, and though he did not replicate that incredible feat, he did not disappoint.
After his deflected shot fell at the feet of Kingsley Coman, who opened the scoring, Lewandowski added the second with the outside of his foot after Franck Ribery found him with some neat chest control. The striker now has a phenomenal tally for the season, per Squawka Football:
Only league goals count toward the European Golden Shoe, and that strike was his 23rd of the campaign—his best ever in the Bundesliga and enough to take him one clear of Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 27-year-old had the ball in the net a second time, but it was disallowed due to Arjen Robben being offside. He is in incredible form in the Bundesliga, as WhoScored.com revealed:
Interestingly, Lewandowski has netted the vast majority of goals in the second half, per Opta Franz:
Sports journalist Stefan Bienkowski is one of his many admirers, as he demonstrated on Saturday:
Aubameyang has been in similar form this season and is just one behind Lewandowski after scoring the 100th league goal of his career on Sunday:
The Gabon international tapped in Henrikh Mkhitaryan's cross to round out BVB's win in injury time. The striker should have found the net earlier but contrived to miss a gilt-edged opportunity—a recurring theme according to German football experts Alex Chaffer and Archie Rhind-Tutt:
Nevertheless, along with Lewandowski, Aubameyang is making history in the Bundesliga, per Rhind-Tutt, with Bienkowski noting the pair have been in exceptional form in all competitions:
Bayern face a potentially tricky match against a Mainz 05 side that have won four of their last five games and sit fifth in the league table, while Dortmund travel to the struggling Darmstadt.
Both players could easily add to their tallies, though in theory, Aubameyang will have an easier time of it, and he could pull level with his rival.
