Recap

Valencia's campaign took another turn for the worse on Sunday, as a seven-minute stretch saw Bilbao score three goals at the Estadio Mestalla to grab the win.

Per ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan, tactical tweaks played a major part in the result, and Neville will shoulder the blame:

Sabin Merino, Iker Muniain and Aritz Aduriz took care of the scoring for the visitors, who looked second-best throughout the afternoon but proved to be the more efficient team in front of goal.

The match turned when Bilbao manager Ernesto Valverde introduced Aduriz, while Neville's decision to take off Enzo Perez, who had been Valencia's main creative force up to that point, will be heavily scrutinised.

Goalkeeper Diego Alves thought the home fans had every right to be angry, per Dorrigan:

Valencia's bid to qualify for the UEFA Champions League through La Liga has been dead for some time now, and even a ticket to the UEFA Europa League seems impossible to obtain at this point. Los Che are still playing in Europe's secondary competition, however, and could book passage to the Champions League by winning the tournament.

Barcelona beat Sevilla 2-1 thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique, boosting their title odds even more. After week 26, they hold an eight-point lead over Atletico Madrid.

Villarreal are likely to qualify as one of La Liga's four Champions League teams, and following their win over Levante, they suddenly find themselves just two points behind Real Madrid in the standings.

Leo Baptistao, Samuel Castillejo and Adrian Lopez all scored for the Yellow Submarine, who were never troubled by Levante. The visitors finished the match with 10 players, as David Navarro ran into a second yellow card after half-time.

Per Real Madrid TV's Phil Kitromilides, Villarreal's fantastic form in La Liga is not to be underestimated:

The team's win over lowly Levante didn't come as a major shock, but their sheer dominance from the opening whistle is another reminder of La Liga's impressive depth. Celta Vigo and Sevilla chase Villarreal by 11 points in the standings.
