Juventus vs. Bayern Munich: Goals, Highlights from the Champions League Last 16

Joe GallagherFeb 23, 2016

Bundesliga-leading Bayern Munich travelled to Turin to face Serie A-leading Juventus on Tuesday night for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie.

Pep Guardiola's Bayern look like German champions-in-waiting yet again, and the Spaniard could add to his legacy with the club by lifting the continental trophy this season.

Juventus, on the other hand, advanced to the knockout phase as Group D runners-up behind Manchester City and had their extraordinary 13-game winning streak ended on Friday by Bologna.

They were lucky not to fall behind 15 minutes in, when Robert Lewandowski's pass to a wide-open Thomas Muller went just behind the German forward.

Bayern dominated the first half and took a deserved lead in the shadow of half-time thanks to Muller:

Arjen Robben doubled the lead 10 minutes after the restart with a trademark finish.

It took only eight minutes for the hosts to respond, as Paulo Dybala fired home to split the deficit.

And with a quarter of an hour to left, Stefano Sturaro poked home to level the score.

Neither side could trouble the scorers after Sturaro's equaliser, as Juventus was able to claw back from a two-goal deficit to take the tie to Munich on level terms.

The second leg will take place in Munich in three weeks.
