Twitter Reacts as PSG Defeat Chelsea 2-1 in the Champions League

No, you're not watching a replay—it's Paris Saint-Germain against Chelsea in the Champions League Vol. III.

The Blues hopped across the English Channel on Tuesday night for their third successive knockout-stage matchup with Laurent Blanc's men in a tie that has become known for its controversy:

The home side started brightly as Chelsea struggled to get a foothold in the match:

Then came an unlikely chance at the other end when Kevin Trapp reacted spectacularly to deny Diego Costa's header:

Though the visitors couldn't make much of their rare foray into PSG's half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic made up for his red card in last season's second leg with a deflected strike as the clock ticked toward half-time:

But that didn't put off Chelsea, who rode their luck to go into the break all square thanks to John Obi Mikel (no, really):

PSG continued to push in search of a second goal, but they couldn't find a way past Thibaut Courtois as the game wore on:

Chelsea looked to protect the scoreline rather than seek another (probably) vital away goal:

And just when it looked as though the Blues might hold out, substitute Edinson Cavani fired the home side back in front with a little over 10 minutes to play:

Angel Di Maria's assist had the Internet salivating:

In the end, it proved crucial. Cavani and Di Maria made the difference, allowing PSG to protect a slender lead ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, on the other hand, were pleased with the result and the away goal they took home:

It's evenly poised for the second leg on March 9.
