
Westminster Dog Show 2016 Results: Best of Breed Winners and Monday Recap
The Grammys may have commanded most of the pop culture attention Monday, but for canine aficionados, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show took no backseat.
The 140th annual two-day event opened Monday in New York City.
Four groups made their rounds Monday: the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding contingents.

The Hound group, which in 2015 featured the Best in Show winner—Miss P, a 15-inch beagle—opened the action in Madison Square Garden on Monday. But this year, Lucy, a borzoi, won. Madison Square Garden congratulated the winner:
The Toy group followed, with Panda, a shih tzu, finishing first ahead of a Pekingese, Pomeranian and Italian greyhound. The American Kennel Club congratulated Panda:
Annabelle, an English bulldog, took home the top prize in the Non-Sporting event to the great pleasure of the crowd:
The evening finished with the Herding group, which featured breeds such as the Icelandic sheepdog and Pembroke Welsh corgi.
But Rumor, a German shepherd, was the runaway winner:
Monday’s four winners will return again Tuesday to compete for the Best in Show against the winners of the Sporting, Working and Terrier groups, which include favorites such as the Doberman pinscher, wire fox terrier and German wirehaired pointer, among others.
