Recap
Norwich were tormented by a Manchester United lineup that contained plenty of first-team talent on Monday night, with the likes of Keane, Depay, Jones and Januzaj adding a touch of senior class to the mix.
Andreas Pereira and Depay set team-mate Keane up to score twice before the interval, but it was only in the second half Norwich's tiring bodies really gave way to United's front man. Keane added two more before the 62-minute mark, and Full Time Devils were right to celebrate his fourth in particular, a delightful chip over Norwich goalkeeper Remi Matthews:
The striker eventually brought his tally for the evening to five. Meanwhile, Pereira converted from the penalty spot, and defensive utility player Timothy Fosu-Mensah netted his first goal for the side since moving into the under-21 last year.
It was a positive display from Depay, who was held accountable by some fans for allowing Diego Costa to score a late equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Chelsea. Registering two assists, the Dutchman impressed as the Telegraph's Liam Canning called for the winger to be given time to settle his nerves:
Reading moved back into the top four of Division 1 on Monday after Rowan Liburd netted the only score in a 1-0 defeat of basement outfit Leicester City, although the Royals have played 15 games, one more than leaders Sunderland.
The 23-year-old now has 11 goals in 12 Under-21 Premier League appearances this season and took to his official Twitter account to celebrate Reading's first win after a three-match losing streak:
Elsewhere, Doumbia made his first appearance for the Magpies since joining on loan from Roma last month, but it wasn't the debut he was hoping for as 10-man Newcastle United dropped 2-1 at home to Stoke.
The Ivorian played the first half for Peter Beardsley's side, whose chances were stunted by Jamie Sterry's 11th-minute sending off. Dominic Telford converted the resulting penalty, and although Daniel Barlaser equalised from a spot-kick soon after, there was little stopping Lewis Banks' long-range rocket winner.
