West Indies Beat Zimbabwe at U19 Cricket WC After Controversial 'Mankad' Run-out
The West Indies prevailed in a tight under-19 Cricket World Cup contest against Zimbabwe on Tuesday to advance to the quarter-finals, but their victory has more than its fair share of controversy attached to it.
Zimbabwe needed three runs from six balls to win and book their own spot in the knockout phase, before Keemo Paul effected a run-out of the non-striker Richard Ngarava with the first ball of the 50th over.
After a referral, Ngarava was given run out under the controversial "Mankad" rule ,and Zimbabwe were all out for 224 chasing West Indies' 226-9.
"The West Indies should be embarrassed by that Mankad. A genuine good game ruined by poor sportsmanship

The losing captain Brandon Mavuta didn't want to speak to Cricinfo about the dismissal. "We got so close, no comment about it," he said. "I don't have anything to say right now. No comment."
West Indian skipper Shimron Hetmyer admitted that the wicket was "probably not" in the spirit of the game; though, he was happy with the decision to appeal. "I would say yes, cricket is a game of uncertainties, we've seen it happen in cricket before, it's not a big deal for us."
