Leicester City can take another significant step towards Premier League glory on Tuesday evening, as they welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side to the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes begin this round of midweek fixtures three points clear of the chasing pack, which includes Arsenal and Manchester City. The latter duo also face intriguing fixtures, with the Gunners hosting Southampton—a fixture the Saints won 4-0 earlier in the campaign—and City making the trip to relegation battlers Sunderland.
Here is a look at the fixtures to come, where you can catch the action and a closer look at two of the week’s standout clashes, as we move towards to business end of the campaign.

Leicester City vs. Liverpool

The Foxes face Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City in their next three fixtures, and should they emerge from that testing run unscathed, they surely have to be considered as one of the favourites for Premier League success.
It’s a run which begins with a big challenge against Liverpool. Klopp, perhaps with this clash in mind, rested a lot of his regular players for the weekend’s clash with West Ham United in the FA Cup and will no doubt be well aware of how much energy they’ll need to exert to take something from this game.
As we can see here courtesy of the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Twitter feed, the Reds have a very busy month coming up too:
Like Liverpool, Leicester play the game in a high-octane style, meaning we should be treated to some pulsating football.
Both teams move the ball forward quickly, give the opposition little time in possession and relish open spaces to run into. So expect plenty of end-to-end action and goalscoring chances.

While Klopp has had to rotate recently, Leicester have used a core of players who are performing extremely well.
As we can see here courtesy of OptaJoe, manager Claudio Ranieri has had the luxury of a settled squad to call upon:
Although many have been waiting for the Foxes to fall back, this is a team which seems to be getting better and better. They’ve now added a defensive solidity to complement their attacking style and that’s a quality which will enable them to get through tight games, with Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy capable of conjuring decisive moments up top.
Liverpool will seek to attack and will be a big threat on the break, but the Foxes will continue their fine form with a narrow triumph.
Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Liverpool
Arsenal vs. Southampton

The game which has raised the most concerns about Arsenal’s title credentials this season was their surrender on the south coast, as Southampton steamrollered the Gunners 4-0 on Boxing Day. This midweek tussle is a brilliant opportunity for Arsene Wenger’s side to put that right.
Arsenal’s loss to Chelsea in the league last time out saw them lose ground in the hunt for glory and it’s imperative they get back on track.
And after Alexis Sanchez got back among the goals against Burnley at the weekend following his injury layoff, confidence should be high at the Emirates Stadium.
Here’s a look at the Chilean’s 10th goal of the campaign, as he capped off a tremendous Gunners move on Saturday, per the Arsenal Twitter feed:
Southampton have had a brilliant January window and seem to be moving in the right direction after some inconsistencies in the first half of the campaign.
Their win at Old Trafford is a result which Ronald Koeman will be hoping kicks this team on again and give them confidence heading to another of the country’s most illustrious stadiums.

Charlie Austin scored the winner for Saints at United and many consider him to be the best bit of business done by any side midseason. As we can see here courtesy of Squawka Football, he made an immediate impact in his debut:
Expect Arsenal to get back to winning ways here. Saints have some very capable players and as was evident earlier in the campaign, they have attacking talent which can cause the Gunners problems.
On home soil, though, the title challengers will turn in a much more accomplished display and be ready to capitalise should Leicester or City falter.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Southampton
