Juventus vs. Genoa: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream, TV Info
Currently enjoying a 12-game winning streak in Serie A, Juventus will hope to set a new club record for consecutive victories by seeing off Genoa in Turin on Wednesday night.
The Bianconeri have been superb in recent weeks, also progressing to the Coppa Italia semi-finals while powering up the league table. That has been testament to the performance of a squad which now appears to be united and deep, capable of turning in excellent displays no matter how many players are rested by coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Yet he was in no mood to discuss their current run of results following Sunday’s win over Chievo, telling reporters at the post-match press conference that it would all be for nothing should they end the campaign empty-handed:

"I’m not particularly interested in this record, as I’d be upset if we won 20 games on the bounce and then maybe not win the league. We’ve fought back well this term and I didn’t expect us to make up ground on our rivals as quickly as we have done, but there are still 16 fixtures left and so we need to keep bettering ourselves as we go forwards.
There’s room for improvement both on an individual and collective level, whether physically or mentally.
"

Their next outing sees Juventus take on a Genoa side currently sitting in 16th place, just five points outside the relegation zone after winning just twice in nine league matches and facing a real battle to remain in the top flight.
“The race to stay in Serie A is tough for everyone,” their coach Gian Piero Gasperini told Sky Italia this weekend (h/t Football Italia). “Our objective is to secure safety and we need the utmost concentration to achieve it.”
They will hope to put an end to Juve’s winning run, but they face a difficult match against a side who are brimming with confidence and who match up well with the 3-4-3 system that has always been Genoa’s hallmark.

Key Battle
Looking at the Genoa squad, there is little doubt that Leonardo Pavoletti is their danger man, his tally of 10 league goals accounting for half of the total number scored by the club’s other players so far in 2015/16.
“After Higuain I think he’s the best centre forward in Serie A,” Genoa president Enrico Preziosi told Radio Anch’io lo Sport recently (h/t Football Italia), and there is little doubt that without the 27-year-old, the side would be in serious trouble.
In Turin on Wednesday, the task of stopping the in-form former Sassuolo man will likely fall to Giorgio Chiellini, one of the man rested by Juventus in recent weeks.
The defender has been impressive in his own right this term, with statistics courtesy of WhoScored.com showing he is averaging 1.7 tackles, 2.7 interceptions and 3.9 clearances per game.
He will need to be at his best to keep Pavoletti quiet, but the Bianconeri have been in superb shape defensively in recent weeks, conceding just once in their last seven matches in all competitions.

Player to Watch
While Chiellini will need to be alert, he will undoubtedly be helped by whoever plays next to him on the left for Juventus, with both Patrice Evra and Alex Sandro performing to an incredibly high standard.
Sandro in particular is starting to truly shine, scoring against Chievo as the Bianconeri overwhelmed the Veronese side. It was his second goal of the season, and the Brazilian has also weighed in with three assists despite sharing playing time with his French team-mate in the full-back role.

Evra has continued the impressive form he showed last term, ensuring opposing wingers receive little space in which to operate and constantly snuffing out attacks. He has also offered a solid offensive contribution, notching one goal and two assists in his 22 appearances to date.
Whichever player is chosen by Allegri, they can be relied upon to deliver—the coach is extremely lucky to have two top-class options for the role.
