Recap
Diego Simeone made a raft of changes ahead of the match, with Koke, Diego Godin and Felipe Luis the only players to retain their starting place, while 17-year-old Joni Montiel started for the visitors.
Both sides started fairly well as the visitors looked to get forward and the hosts remained typically robust at the back, but it wasn't until the 32nd minute that a clear-cut chance was created, and Thomas Partey forced a strong save from Yoel with an excellent header.
The stopper was helpless eight minutes later, though, when Angel Correa lashed in a magnificent shot in off the crossbar from the edge of the area.
Football journalist Kieran Canning highlighted the contrast between the goal and the overall standard of the match thus far:
The second half was largely the same as the first, with genuine chances for either side proving few and far between—though Thomas caused problems with some dangerous balls into the area.
Atletico sparked into life late on in the match as Jackson Martinez had an effort saved by Yoel. SB Nation's Robbie Dunne noted the striker's struggles:
Moments later, his side were ahead, though, when substitute Griezmann flicked the ball in following a goalmouth scramble at a corner. Los Rojiblancos almost added a third through Thomas, but once again, Yoel was equal to the shot.

Griezmann was on hand yet again in injury time as he timed his run perfectly to latch onto a long ball forward, nick it past the 'keeper and tap home.
Knowing they needed to overturn a four-goal deficit, Granada flew out of the traps at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
Isaac Success, Youssef El Arabi and Diego Mainz all had efforts on goal in the early stages, but chance after chance went begging as they sent their shots off-target or saw them saved by Mathew Ryan.
Valencia finished the half as the stronger of the two sides, though, and killed off the tie when Wilfried Zahibo headed home Pablo Piatti's corner.
Paco Alcacer made it 2-0 shortly after the hour mark when he latched onto Danilo's through ball and fired home, just moments after coming on, per Valencia's official Twitter account:
Piatti completed the scoring with a late penalty after Neuton fouled Zakaria Bakkali.
