UK Back Pages: Pep Guardiola's English Ambition, Man Utd's Bale Bid

Wednesday morning's back pages focus primarily on Pep Guardiola's confirmation that he wishes to coach in England next season. The Times are among those who believe the Spanish coach will choose Manchester City:

The Daily Express go one step further by claiming that Pep will try to bring Lionel Messi to the Etihad when he arrives:

The Sun are not assuming that Pep's move to City is a forgone conclusion, as Manchester United could still turn his head:

The Daily Mirror report on the Guardiola story from the perspective of current City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who will happily step aside—provided his team wins the league this year:

The Daily Star also believe Pep will choose City, but they give top billing on the back page to Liverpool's League Cup triumph over Stoke:

The Guardian also focus on the Reds' victory at the Britannia, while also claiming that Gareth Bale will happily stay at Real Madrid, provided he is offered a more central role:

The Daily Mail, however, have a slightly different take on the Bale situation. They believe the Welshman to be the subject of a £75 million bid from Manchester United, based on his perceived unhappiness at the Bernabeu:
