Manchester City and United Fans Prank Each Other with Champions League Jokes

Downsizing a conflict as fierce as Manchester United and Manchester City's to two relatively tame pranks on each others' ticket offices probably downplays the intensity of the rivalry.

But such is the world we live in that, coupled with the total absence of any on-field drama between the two in recent times, supporters of both clubs have taken it upon themselves to troll the others over the phone line.

On Tuesday, it was a City fan's turn, and he poked fun at United's failure to reach the last 16 of the Champions League by prompting the woman on the end of the line to admit "we're out of the Champions League" in a video posted to Twitter:

Within a matter of hours, the Red Devils had responded, mocking their crosstown rivals' legacy in the continental competition:
