Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Jamie Vardy and Alex Teixeira Rumours
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hinted he is interested in attracting Jamie Vardy to the champions, as the Leicester City striker leads the goalscoring charts in the Premier League.
Jamie Sanderson of Metro quoted the under-fire Blues coach praise the England international, whose reputation has reached new heights during the current campaign: "He is top scorer and it is normal big clubs want him. It is a beautiful story and his record is historic."
Sanderson said the player is now rated at £25 million after surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy's Premier League record for scoring in consecutive games, bringing him to the attentions of Europe's elite clubs.

Rob Draper of the Mail On Sunday further quoted Mourinho speaking about Vardy's qualities, claiming the striker would succeed if he left the Foxes for a bigger side:
"Even at a big club (counter-attack) transitions are important, fast players are important, people to attack space behind defenders are important.
Obviously in the big teams sometimes we face very low (defensive) blocks where technical players to play in the box are very much needed. But I think a fast player with objective and being direct can have success everywhere.
"

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has also tipped his hat towards Vardy, agreeing the best way to halt the talent might be by kicking him, but he said no physical treatment can stop the striker on his current run of form—as reported by Draper:
"If it helps [by kicking him] – why not? Some of the strikers don't like when you kick. You kill their confidence.
But Vardy in the moment is running a lot and it is making the space for other players as well. They are confident, are in the place where they have really, really biggest confidence in the last couple of years. I think it will be very hard.
"

It was only a few months ago a player such as Vardy would not have been linked with Europe's primary clubs.
Vardy has found his niche in English football, and he is squeezing out his maximum potential as Leicester continue to humble their opponents.
The 28-year-old currently has 14 goals from 15 Premier League appearances, and he would add a different dimension to a stale and static Chelsea attack.

In other news, Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira could soon find himself at Stamford Bridge after reportedly admitting talks with Chelsea.
Italian outlet Tuttojuve (h/t the Daily Star's James Walters) quoted the player discussing his potential transfer to Mourinho's team: "I know there is interest from them [Chelsea]. There have been talks, but at the moment there is nothing concrete. Now I just want to go on vacation in Brazil. Then I'll see what the future holds."
Teixeira has been prolific this term, scoring 22 goals in only 15 league games.
Here is a video displaying why the striker has risen to prominence this season:
Both Vardy and Teixeira have displayed fine attributes this season, but it is questionable whether they are the correct players to get Chelsea firing once again.
The two attackers have plundered the goals at a fantastic rate this year, but the Blues' issues are more than simply scoring.
Mourinho has to address the problems in midfield and defence, as Chelsea's spine has gone from irresistible to consistently weak in only a few months.
Diego Costa has not suddenly become a poor striker overnight, but the setup behind him does not have the urgency it had last season, making him ineffective and frustrated in the No. 9 role.
