Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Neven Subotic and Kevin Grosskreutz Rumours
Liverpool will attempt to strengthen their defence with two of Jurgen Klopp's former players by pursuing Neven Subotic and Kevin Grosskreutz in the January transfer window.
German newspaper Bild (h/t the Telegraph) reported that Subotic has a "60 per cent" chance of making the switch to Anfield in a potential £3.5 million deal.
The 27-year-old defender has fallen out of favour at Borussia Dortmund but would be considered excellent value at the touted price.

Stephan Uersfeld of ESPN reported that the player refused to deny rumours of a reunion with Klopp, telling 1live radio: "I can't comment on it."
However, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc told Bild (h/t Uersfeld) that the Bundesliga outfit has no intention of moving Subotic on: "We are still playing the first half of the season, and we are not thinking about letting him go, but naturally we will discuss his situation. It's an unusual and difficult situation for him. Neven copes with it professionally, but naturally he is not happy."
According to Uersfeld, the centre-back signed a new deal with Dortmund in the summer, tying him to the club until 2018, but the lure of Klopp could be too much as Subotic looks for first-team action.

The Serbian international has only made four starts for his club this term, according to WhoScored.com, but was a regular in Klopp's starting XI when the manager resided at the Westfalenstadion.
Sky Sports' Alex Chaffer believes Subotic could successfully fight for his place at Dortmund but thinks he'll seek pastures new:

Another of Klopp's ex-defenders could be on the move to Anfield, as reports suggest Grosskreutz will sign from Galatasaray.
The German full-back—who can feature in both defence and attack—has been sidelined due to the Super Lig club's failure to submit paperwork during his transfer from BVB, but the Telegraph said that Turkish reports indicate he will now arrive on Merseyside.
A three-year deal for Grosskreutz at Liverpool has been suggested, and the wide player would be a versatile addition to Klopp's squad.
The player has continued to train with the Istanbul giants before his transfer to Gala becomes valid on January 1 but is said "to be pushing for an exit," according to the Telegraph. Galatasaray have yet to sanction the move to Liverpool, delaying Grosskreutz's departure from Turkey.
Both Subotic and Grosskreutz have extensive experience playing under Klopp, and the new Liverpool boss would feel confident that he could get a tune from the pair.
Subotic was rated one of the best centre-backs in Europe as BVB captured the Bundesliga title in 2011 and 2012 and could become a very reliable player in the Premier League.
The Reds have been inconsistent in central defence for many years, which helped contribute to Brendan Rodgers' demise as boss.
The Serbian would be an upgrade on Martin Skrtel in the back four and would bring strength and leadership as Liverpool attempt to crack the top four spots in the table.
