College Football's Most Important Offers of the Week

Since he arrived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, head coach Nick Saban has turned the Crimson Tide program into a recruiting juggernaut capable of pulling top prospects from around the country.

The Tide’s 2016 class features 17 pledges from 11 different states—including one from California.

Last week, Saban and his staff hit the Golden State again to offer 4-star athlete Jack Jones.

The 5’10”, 170-pound Jones—who is rated as the nation’s No. 3 athlete and No. 44 player overall—could play either receiver or corner at the next level.

However, as BamaOnline’s Hank South noted, the Tide are recruiting Jones on the offensive side of the ball.

Jones, who holds 22 offers, is currently favoring schools such as Texas A&M over in-state schools UCLA and USC, as detailed by Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. His visit to College Station left a favorable impression.

"I just liked [Texas A&M] a lot," Jones told Bartow. "It's the place to be. The coaches are fired up on and off the field. The players are like brothers."

He’s already taken official visits to Arizona State and Texas A&M.

If the Tide hope to become a factor with Jones, getting him on campus soon is a must.

Clemson Offers Stud 2017 WR, Recent USC Decommit

One of the more shocking developments last week was the decommitment of 2017 4-star wide receiver Amari Rodgers from USC—especially considering that his father is current Trojans receivers coach Tee Martin.

Shortly before that announcement, the 5’10”, 195-pounder received an offer from Clemson.

As noted by Bartow, the Tigers were the childhood favorite of Rodgers.

With his process officially reopened, Clemson figures to have a great shot with Rodgers moving forward.

Michigan After 2017 Georgia LB

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has helped the Wolverines expand their recruiting efforts all over the country since his arrival in Ann Arbor.

Last week, the Wolverines went into Georgia to offer 4-star linebacker Breon Dixon—who also added an offer from the home-standing Bulldogs later in the week.

The 6’0”, 216-pounder holds 21 offers, including tenders from programs such as Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.

The Wolverines already hold a commitment from 2017 3-star running back and Georgia native Kurt Taylor. Harbaugh and his staff will look to strike again in the Peach State in their pursuit of Dixon.

Texas 2017 WR Lands Pair of Big Offers

One of the top rising skill players in the state of Texas is 4-star receiver Omar Manning.

The 6’3”, 200-pounder has been a hot prospect in recent weeks, and last week, he added offers from Oklahoma and UCLA.

Arizona State, Oklahoma State and TCU are among the other programs that have offered the nation’s No. 43-ranked receiver and No. 290-ranked overall player in the 2017 class.

Both the Sooners and Bruins feature high-powered offenses that would be attractive to a playmaker such as Manning.
