Real Madrid Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Snub Expected Amid January Rumours
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski reportedly has no interest in departing the Allianz Arena despite ongoing links with Real Madrid.
Spanish outlet Marca previously indicated that Los Blancos are keen to snap up the Polish No. 9 as they need added strength in their forward line.
However, European football expert Andy Brassell has categorically ruled out a move for Lewandowski, noting that he previously eschewed the chance to switch to the Bernabeu, per BBC Radio 5 live:

"He was someone who had the opportunity to go where he wanted [when he left Borussia Dortmund in 2014]. He stayed in Germany because his family wanted to stay in Germany. He turned down a humongous offer from Real Madrid before he joined Bayern, nothing’s changed for him."
Lewandowski, 27, has been arguably the best striker in Europe this season as he has netted 19 times in 17 Bundesliga and Champions League appearances, at a remarkable rate of a goal every 70 minutes, per WhoScored.com.
In contrast, Real Madrid's main striker, Karim Benzema, has endured a tough time both on and off the field of late.
Benzema made his first appearance for Real since early October against Barcelona on Saturday as Madrid were thrashed 4-0.
The Frenchman looked some way off the pace and was widely panned for his performance, per Spanish outlet Sport (via Bleacher Report UK):
When Benzema is not firing, Real have few options to replace him as a genuine No. 9, a predicament that would be solved in an instant by the signing of Lewandowski.
However, Bayern are currently a much more attractive club to be playing at than their Spanish counterparts as Los Blancos' prospects look bleak under manager Rafael Benitez—their Clasico defeat saw them drop significantly down Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe's European power rankings:
Not only is Lewandowski clearly more comfortable in Germany, but his prospects of winning titles currently look far better if he stays at Bayern than if he were to move to Real.
That is not to completely write off Madrid's chances of winning La Liga or the Champions League this season.
But they are currently six points back from league-leading Barca in the Spanish top flight and both the Catalans and Bayern look much better bets to prevail in Europe's premier club competition.
Real's prospects would be improved by the addition of a top-quality striker, but it will seemingly not be Lewandowski.
