Liverpool Transfer News: Jurgen Klopp Discusses January Plans Amid Reds Rumours
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to spend money in the January transfer window if further injuries in his squad force his hand.
Since the German took over at Anfield in October he has lost Danny Ings and Joe Gomez to long-term injuries, while Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge, Mamadou Sakho and Jordan Henderson have continuing fitness concerns.
As a result, Klopp has been forced to be creative in his selections, and while he has not guaranteed making any moves in the new year he is certainly open to the prospect of doing some business, per Soccer Saturday (h/t Sky Sports):

"The January transfer window is not the perfect one because you have no time to train. You pick a player, put him on the pitch and say, "Come on, show your best performance". But if we need, we will do [transfers]. No problem. I don't know what will happen in January, if we have more injuries it will be important, of course. But at this moment, there's no decision.

Given Ings' long-term problems and the frailty of Benteke and Sturridge, the Reds could do with added depth in attack.
They have been linked with numerous forward targets in recent weeks including Sao Paulo's £8 million-rated Alexandre Pato, per Calciomercato (h/t Will Giles of Metro).

Leicester City's in-form striker Jamie Vardy has also been mooted as a potential January target, but Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri believes the Englishman will snub a move to a big club in the new year, per James Nursey in the Mirror.
Vardy has been immense in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, netting 12 goals in as many matches, per WhoScored.com.
He is exactly the kind of player the Reds need as his finishing is second to none—Liverpool have tended to spurn their chances this season, per Opta:
They could potentially tempt him away from the King Power Stadium in January with a big-money offer.
But, even if he does do business, Klopp is likely to be frugal in the new year and thus may go after a cheaper option than the much sought-after Vardy.
