He completed 13 of 29 for 127 yards with two TDs (one rush; one from the goal line to Witten and another on a quarterback draw.
There were many plays where Romo missed his target or threw into double coverage.
The Giants defense returned an interception for a touchdown. Safety Kenny Philips caught one on the sideline as if he was a center fielder catching a fly ball.
Romo missed Witten so bad on one play that it bounced off his hands, hit his foot and surfaced into the steady hands of a Giants defender for an interception.
The Cowboys were successful on the ground with Barber rushing for 124 yards and a TD and Felix Jones running for 96 yards on seven carries and a TD.
It was clear that the best way for Dallas to move the ball was on the ground. Through the air Romo was almost non-existent.
He did not make the big plays when it was needed. Yes, the defense let him down at the end, but if you're the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, you find whatever way possible to win that game for the fans and owner Jerry Jones.
The season is only two games in and there is a lot of football left to play, but Romo is going to have to pick up the slack. He was blitzed heavily and looked uncomfortable in the pocket.
This could have been a big statement made by the Cowboys, but it is another missed opportunity to show they are the team to beat in the NFC East.
Romo has been a solid quarterback for Dallas, but he has yet to prove his ability to win the big game.
Eli Manning did what he had to do to lead his Giants to victory in Dallas. He has won a Super Bowl, and once again last night showed why he was paid well in the offseason.
It is time for Romo to come back and lead this team to victory.
Their schedule is fairly easy with games at home against Carolina on Monday night, followed by Denver, and Kansas City.
Let's see if Romo can deliver by winning games after a tough loss to the favorite in the division—the New York Football-Giants.
