Ref Stops Game, Says Central Michigan Band and Cheerleaders Are Being Too Loud
So this is a new one, or at least a new one for me.
An official working Tuesday night's tilt between Toledo and Central Michigan did a curious thing when he stopped the game briefly for a little chat with members of the crowd—specifically, the band and cheerleaders.
Sports' Dan Katz posted a Vine of the stoppage:

Apparently, the students who spend most of their college life perfecting the art of organized hubbub...were making too much hubbub.
Toledo would go on to win 28-23, presumably because Central Michigan's coaches were asked to use flag semaphore to relay play calls.
I don't know about this one, guys. If I were a person in charge of football stuff, I'd think long and hard before asking the only people at the games who are supposed to be loud at all times to pipe down.
But maybe I'm just old-fashioned.
Dan is on Twitter. Pipe down, kids. The MAC is playing.
