Anthony Martial Admits 'Bad Match for Me' as Louis Van Gaal Reacts to Fans' Boos
Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has admitted that he was not at his best as Wayne Rooney secured a late winner for the Red Devils over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Frenchman was replaced by Marouane Fellaini on 66 minutes—13 minutes prior to Rooney netting United's first goal in 404 minutes, per BT Sport Football—after failing to make a real impact against the Russian outfit.
He took to Instagram following the 1-0 victory to acknowledge an important result which saw United move top of their Champions League group but conceded to performing poorly:

Martial has undoubtedly been United's most potent attacking force this season since making his summer switch from Monaco.
The Old Trafford faithful roundly booed manager Louis van Gaal's decision to replace the 19-year-old against CSKA, but the Dutchman insisted the fans were not disappointed with the eventual result, per MailOnline's Chris Wheeler:
"Of course I heard that (the booing), I'm not deaf. That's the opinion of the fans but afterwards they weren't disappointed with the decision of the manager. I'm relieved but also proud. In the golden years of Manchester United, they never won against a Russian team, I read. Everyone thinks it's easy but it isn't for any club in the Champions League.
"
Indeed, Van Gaal's decision to throw on Fellaini actually resulted in his side upping their intensity and eventually earning the crucial goal.
The Manchester Evening News' Samuel Luckhurst praised the substitution after the match:
United fans will desperately hope that their victory against CSKA—which came following 0-0 draws with Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace—can boost their team's performances in the coming weeks.
The Manchester outfit have been drab to watch lately, with their slow build-up play and lack of goals being widely criticised, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
Martial has been the most exciting element of United's squad this season and he will look to return to form when the Red Devils host West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in the Premier League.
The under-performing Rooney should take confidence from having netted against CSKA and he and Martial could play key roles against the Baggies.
Only a convincing victory over West Brom will be enough to appease United's fans after a string of underwhelming performances from the team, though.
