James 'Manuel' Haskell in the Dark over England Rugby Review

James Haskell has told Bleacher Report that he is the equivalent of Manuel from Fawlty Towers with regard to the current England rugby review.

England crashed out of the 2015 Rugby World Cup on home soil at the pool stage, following defeats to Wales and Australia.

Coach Stuart Lancaster is clinging onto his job, but a thorough root-and-branch review is being undertaken.

Players and officials have been consulted to gauge their thoughts on the state of the game at the top level in England.

Haskell, as a senior member in the squad, was consulted—but he has now returned to club rugby with Wasps and does not know at what stage the review is at.

"I have done the review," Haskell told Bleacher Report at the announcement of Turkish Airlines coming on board as an official partner of European Professional Club Rugby's Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.

"I finished against Uruguay, Monday I went to Buckingham Palace and Tuesday I did the review. Since then, I have returned to Wasps and have not thought about it.

"We as players know nothing. In the words of Manuel from Fawlty Towers, I know nothing.

"It has been done and dusted now (the World Cup); I knew I was coming straight back into a leadership role with Wasps and that is where my focus is right now."

The European Challenge Cup gets underway on November 12, with Harlequins playing host to Montpellier at the Stoop. The Champions Cup kicks off 24 hours later, with Leicester Tigers welcoming Stade Francais to Welford Road.
