Arturo Vidal Issues Warning to Arsenal Ahead of Clash with Bayern Munich
Having failed to find their best form at the Emirates Stadium in their previous Champions League outing, Bayern Munich are intent on showing Arsenal what they’re capable of when the two teams meet at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, according to midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Gunners turned in a defensive masterclass to shut out the German champions in their last meeting, winning 2-0 on the night thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil. Bayern were uncharacteristically toothless in their forward forays, but their Chilean enforcer has vowed that’ll not be the case second time around.

“We'll show Arsenal the real Bayern on Wednesday,” said a bullish Vidal, per Bild (h/t Rohan Banerjee of the MailOnline). “Our confidence is high. This time we'll take our chances and take the three points.”
The German champions weren’t great at the Emirates, especially after such a strong beginning to the season. Pep Guardiola’s men were in possession of the game’s hottest forward in Robert Lewandowski heading into the game, but Arsenal sat deep, nullified his impact and counter-attacked with a thrilling vim.

There have been a few minor signs Bayern may be beginning to lose a little bit of momentum recently. After winning their first 10 games of the Bundesliga season in stunning style, they were held by Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday. As we can see here, courtesy of Squawka, they weren’t particular creative in that game, either:
It’ll be intriguing to see just how Arsenal approach this one. With Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, two massive counter-attacking weapons, out injured, manager Arsene Wenger may have to adapt his team’s playing style slightly. However, on their last two visits to Munich, the Gunners have come away unbeaten.
In Mesut Ozil, they have one of the finest playmakers in the world at the peak of his powers. As we can see here, courtesy of Sky Sports News HQ, the Germany international is a creative force of nature:
Bayern will be desperate to make amends for their poor performance in north London and are extremely difficult to get the better of on home soil. Guardiola is also likely to be able to call upon devastating Dutch winger Arjen Robben, who has featured in all three of the club's domestic matches since the clash at the Emirates.

Vidal is a player who will be tasked with setting the tempo, and his battles with the likes of Ozil and Santi Cazorla in the middle of the park will be crucial to determining the outcome of this one. As good as Arsenal have been of late, when Bayern are at their best, they are too strong for any side on the planet on home soil.
