The Dallas Morning News' Shehan Jeyarajah passed along the update. According to Jeyarajah, head coach Art Briles said Coleman suffered the injury before the Oklahoma game on Nov. 14.
Considered one of the best receiving prospects in the country, Coleman finished the 2015 season with 74 catches for 1,363 yards and 20 touchdowns. He tallied all 20 scores in Baylor's first eight games, including a four-touchdown effort against Lamar and three-touchdown days against Rice, Texas Tech and West Virginia.
The injury is a downer for Baylor as it seeks to cap off its season with a bowl win over North Carolina, but it shouldn't hamper Coleman's pro prospects.
Coleman declared for the NFL draft shortly after Baylor's loss to Texas on Dec. 5.
"We made the decision of what is best for me,” he said, per Suzanne Halliburton of the Statesman. “I would have liked to have had a more successful season, but I’m not going to complain. We’re going to go to a bowl game. We’re blessed. Every team doesn’t make it to a bowl game. We’re one of the teams."
A top-flight receiving talent, Coleman should be a coveted name when the 2016 NFL draft rolls around.
