Jalen Rose Comments on Recruiting Visits, Compares Them to 'Bachelor Parties'
As fans and journalists continue to pore over the details of the Louisville Cardinals' recruiting scandal, Jalen Rose outlined the process he experienced as a recruit in 1991.
"I want to paint a picture. What you see at a bachelor or bachelorette party is what happens on a recruiting visit," he said on the Oct. 6 edition of the Jalen and Jacoby podcast (h/t Steve Schrader of the Detroit Free Press).
Rose told co-host David Jacoby that he visited Michigan State, UNLV and Syracuse before joining the Michigan Wolverines.

"Yes, there is drinking," Rose added. "Yes, there is members of the opposite sex that are present. Remember, they're trying to woo me to the campus. And as a 17-year-old kid, first off, if I'm not getting laid, I'm not coming. I'm not signing. I'm not coming."
In a report for ESPN's Outside the Lines, John Barr and Jeff Goodman spoke to former recruits and a former escort who allege a former graduate assistant coach at Louisville, Andre McGee, paid for strippers to attend parties at a campus dorm. The aim of the parties was to entice potential recruits to join the Cardinals.
The specifics of Rose's stories differ from those regarding the alleged parties at Louisville, but both situations shed some light on what happens behind the scenes during the recruiting process in college basketball.
