Brees Becomes 5th Quarterback with 400 Career Touchdown Passes
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had a memorable Sunday night, recording the 400th touchdown pass of his career on an 80-yard strike to running back C.J. Spiller for a walk-off touchdown on the second snap of overtime in a 26-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
The long touchdown made Brees just the fifth player to reach the milestone, along with Peyton Manning (536), Brett Favre (508), Dan Marino (420) and Tom Brady (401), per Sportsnet Stats.
Despite putting up modest but efficient numbers for most of the night, Brees rode a big finish to an excellent stat line, ultimately completing 33 of his 41 pass attempts for 359 yards and a pair of touchdowns without any interceptions or fumbles.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Per ESPN Stats & Info, Brees' 400th career touchdown pass was the first of his career to occur in overtime, which can partially be attributed to the rarity of overtime touchdowns before the rules were changed in 2012 to ensure that an opening-possession field goal wouldn't end the game.
Many argue that the new rules are still unfair, as the Cowboys never got the ball in Sunday's overtime, which lasted just 13 seconds.
In any case, Brees also reached a milestone earlier in the game on his 399th career touchdown pass, with the three-yard toss to tight end Josh Hill marking the 5,000th completion of Brees' career, per Katherine Terrell of NOLA.com.
