Nike Air Jordan 1 Low 'Royal' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
Sneaker collectors hoping to purchase a more cost-effective copy of legendary kicks will be in luck on Oct. 7. This Wednesday, Jordan Brand will release the "Royal" Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG.
According to Sole Collector's Brendan Dunne, the shoe will cost $130 and be available at most major sneaker retailers.
The Jordan Release Date app posted some good looks of the "Royal" Low OG:
The royal blue and black colorway mimics that of the more famous Air Jordan 1 High. The Nike Air logo is visible on the tongue and the insole of the shoe, with the Air Jordan logo depicted on the back of the sneaker.
The high-top Air Jordan 1 is one of the most iconic shoes in basketball history. The design is unmistakable and evokes a flood of emotions for fans, especially those who watched Michael Jordan's NBA journey.
For many, the Air Jordan 1 likely sparked a passion in shoe collecting.
The problem with wanting to own a piece of that legacy is that it can be pricey if you're looking for the genuine article. Not everybody can spend $500 to $1,000 on shoes, no matter how rare and exquisite they are.
The "Royal" Low OG, given its price point, bridges the gap between style and affordability. Devout followers of the Jordan Brand will be able to obtain a stylish kick without breaking the bank.
Plus, owning a good pair of low-tops is always a nice luxury when you want to look good but not have your Achilles get shredded and blistered, which can happen sometimes with high-tops.
Much like Jordan himself, the Air Jordan 1 High can never be duplicated, and it will never be matched in terms of greatness and impact.
But the "Royal" Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG is a great attempt by Jordan Brand to make the look more accessible to a larger number of fans.
Christmas is a little over two months away, so you might as well treat yourself to an early present and snag a pair.
