Arnold Classic Europe 2015 Results: Winner, Highlights, Prize Money, Reaction

James DudkoSep 27, 2015

Dexter Jackson won the 2015 Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid. In the process, he moved to 23 victories in the paid ranks, surpassing Vince Taylor.

The Blade is now just two wins short of record-holder Ronnie Coleman, according to Muscular Development's Peter McGough. Find the full list of winners from this year's event, including the fitness competitions, at ArnoldClassicEurope.es.

The win in the Spanish capital also set a first for the 45-year-old Florida native. Jackson had won different global editions of the Arnold Classic, but he'd never experienced victory on the continent. His win provides ample consolation after he was beaten to this year's Mr. Olympia title by fellow American Phil Heath.

By taking the Arnold Classic Europe award, Jackson collected $40,000. Flex magazine displayed a photo of the winner with his check as well as event signatory Arnold Schwarzenegger and the president of the IFBB, Rafael Santonja:

Jackson finished ahead of Shawn Rhoden and Dennis Wolf. The German placed third after collecting the title at last year's event.

Jackson may have benefited from Heath's decision not to participate. Kai Greene was also not in action, although he did perform a guest pose. McGough also chided "poor lighting" at the event for making participants appear "faded."

FlexOnline.com revealed the official scorecards from IFBB Professional League judge Steve Weinberger. The Body-Extreme YouTube channel provided highlights of the top three:

Jackson took to his Instagram page to celebrate the win:

Meanwhile, Muscle Insider magazine offered its congratulations:

Jackson was helped by Rhoden lacking enough edge on stage. McGough called for Rhoden to portray a "bit more devil in his onstage persona." That might be a tough ask for the 40-year-old.

Yet Jackson managed to prove age is no barrier with this win. He retains the look and character judges stay enamoured with.

Now the Blade can place this accolade next to the quintet of Arnold Classic USA titles he's scooped during his lengthy career, as noted by the event's official site. He's also added to his record-winning run on the circuit, according to the same source.

Jackson leaves Madrid 23 wins and a piece of his history to his credit.
