World Indoor Lacrosse Championship 2015 Results: Wednesday Scores and Reaction
Just two games were on the schedule for the sixth day of the 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship with two of the top teams in Canada and the Iroquois in action on Wednesday.
Both nations were taking on far weaker opponents as they look to continue their quest for yet another medal. Let's take a look at the results from Wednesday's play:
| Canada | 19-2 | England |
| Iroquois | 17-4 | Czech Republic |
Canada 19, England 2
It was a walk in the park for the three-time defending champions on Wednesday as Canada made easy work of England.
Canada scored the first eight goals of the game, allowed two goals in four minutes to England's Cole Shafer and finished the match scoring the last 10 unanswered.
The victors had four players record hat-tricks, with Ryan Benesch leading all scorers with five goals and an assist. But it was Shawn Evans who led his team in points, complementing his three goals with 10 assists.
It was complete domination from the Canadians. They won 22 of 25 faceoffs, which ensured them long bouts of possession, and outshot England 85-32.
England couldn't even take advantage of three Canadian penalties that put them up a man. In fact, it was Canada that scored twice while they were a man down.
The win puts Canada into the semi-final while they await the winner of Israel and the Czech Republic.
Much like the Canadians, the Iroquois made easy work of the Czech Republic on Wednesday night led once again by Lyle and Miles Thompson.
With seven goals and six assists combined, the brothers had a hand in 13 of their team's 17 goals.
For the Czech Republic, Dominik Pesek helped salvage some pride for his team as he scored three of their four goals.
Then again, it looks like a miracle the Czech Republic didn't lose by more as they were outshot 108-36. They have the combination of Michael Poulin and Tomas Cekal to thank as the two Czech goalies combined for 61 saves on the night.
The Iroquois Nationals used a pair of 6-0 runs to help pad their victory as they, like Canada, clinched a bye in the quarter-finals and will await the winner of the United States and Ireland.
