NASCAR Truck Series at New Hampshire 2015: Full Schedule, Standings and Preview

Chris RolingSep 24, 2015

After watching John Hunter Nemechek steal a win in Chicago, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series continues to march to the season finale with a stop at the UNOH 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

Interesting developments line the leaderboard by the week now, with Erik Jones pulling away in the No. 1 slot and former leader Matt Crafton slipping a tad. It doesn't help that the regulars continue to battle with Sprint Cup regulars such as Kyle Busch.

So it goes for the truck series at a race the unassuming Cole Custer won last year, his first ever in the series. This year promises the same unpredictable, competitive nature. Here's everything to know about the event.

Drivers to Watch

Matt Crafton

It's not panic-button time for Crafton by any means, but he dropped a spot in the standings after a 14th-place finish in Chicago despite starting second.

While not a gap the veteran isn't capable of closing, Crafton is well-aware of the struggles he experienced last year in New Hampshire from a leaderboard standpoint. PaddockTalk.com captured his thoughts on the matter:

"

I always love going to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Last year, it was one of the more hurtful races in points for me. I gave it away, I made a mistake. I was leading and missed a shift on the green-white-checkered restart. I just got beat. This year we're going to go back looking for redemption and hopefully we can leave there with a lobster.

"

Now for the good news. Crafton has three top-five finishes at New Hampshire and the most starts of any driver entered in this weekend's event.

The 39-year-old sits a good 11 points out of first place now, but it's something he can make up in a hurry with a strong showing. The veteran with four wins is never one to count out when it matters the most.

Tyler Reddick

Tyler Reddick saw an opportunity last time out and seized it.

After struggling to a 19th-place finish at the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at the end of August, Reddick made a thrilling charge late in Chicago to steal second place and knock Crafton from second on the leaderboard.

Reddick received a black flag late in Chicago for fluids on the track yet used the opportunity to correct issues and finish in the strong slot.

Now he enters a race he finished eighth in one season ago with the top of the leaderboard in his sights. Free of the late-August struggles, the man with 13 top-10 finishes dating back to February can continue his climb to racing superstardom with a similar showing.

Look for the 19-year-old to come out aggressive once again and give the top five on the leaderboard all they can handle.

Kyle Busch

He's back.

The truck series hasn't seen Busch since mid-August at the UNOH 200, which is probably a good thing for all involved. Busch has three starts in the series this year, two of them wins and the other a second-place finish.

The 30-year-old made a miraculous Chase berth after an injury-shortened season, and he doesn't have any qualms about taking to the truck series as something of a way to prepare for Sprint Cup events.

It shouldn't come as a shock, but Busch is on fire at all three levels. He has four straight top-10 finishes in the Sprint Cup, and he just won the Xfinity event in Chicago. Now Busch has his sights on the truck series again, and it's hard to imagine he isn't the runaway favorite.

At the least, Busch's inclusion in the event makes things all the more entertaining. He pushes all involved and helps further make the event a must-see bit of racing, complicating the leaderboard matters at hand in the process.
