Australia 12, Finland 8
Australia were led by the four goals and two assists of Caleb Hall on Tuesday to improve to 4-1 at the WILC. It is the second time at this tournament they have defeated Finland, who have lost their third game so far.
Hall also had a pair of penalties—two of nine on the day for Australia—but Finland were only able to capitalise three times on their man-advantage situations.
Finland managed to battle back from a 5-2 deficit to pull within a goal at 6-5, but Australia managed to outscore them 6-2 in the final 35 minutes.
Robert Raittilla had a hand in six of Finland's eight goals on Tuesday, scoring four goals and adding a pair of assists.
Serbia 16, Turkey 12
After losing the first two games of the WILC, Serbia have won three consecutive games, including a win on Tuesday against Turkey.
In order to get the win, though, they had to outscore Anthony Terranova of Turkey, who scored nine of his team's 12 goals on Tuesday. In five games this tournament, Terranova has scored 29 times.
Dave Deriso scored the other three goals for Turkey, as spreading the offense does not seem evident with this side.
Serbia used a more balanced approach in their win, led by Ryan Pavic, who scored five of his team's 16 goals. Aleksandar Gajic added four tallies on the day as well.
In total, the Serbs had seven different goalscorers on Tuesday. They were aggressive in setting up plenty of opportunities, recording 55 shots compared to Turkey's 35.
Israel 12, Ireland 7
Using a 4-0 run to take a 5-2 lead in the second quarter, Israel held a narrow lead for most of the match that hovered near two goals.
Leading 9-7 at the end of the third quarter, Israel shut Ireland down while scoring three goals in the final 11 minutes.
Ireland was sloppy for most of Tuesday, committing 12 penalties that helped Israel win by that five-goal margin. The victors scored five times on the man advantage.
Stephen Keogh and Kyle Bergman each scored a goal apiece, while Chad Culp added three goals and five assists.
Germany 16, Switzerland 8
Having lost their last three games, Germany were in need of a win and could not have played a better opponent to end that streak than the winless Switzerland.
After scoring the first goal, Switzerland allowed seven consecutive German goals. They managed to pull four back thanks to a hat-trick by Benjamin Schreiber in just 2:12, but Germany scored nine of the game's last 11 goals to clinch the win.
Brendan Shea led all scorers with six goals on the day, but it was Germany's defense that stood out. Recording 42 shots on goal in the win, it allowed just 19 from Switzerland.
Iroquois 20, England 6
This game was over by the first quarter as the Iroquois ran over England 20-6 on Tuesday night.
Lyle Thompson scored a hat-trick during a first quarter that saw the Iroquois outscore England 10-0. Thompson had four goals and four assists on the night while his brother Miles added two goals and two assists.
But the Thompson's were outshined by another pair of Iroquois goal-scorers as Jeff Shattler and Roger Vyse each recorded five goals on the evening.
The Iroquois seemed like an unstoppable force, unleashing 86 shots on Tuesday while picking up 106 ground balls as England was absolutely overwhelmed. Cole Shafer was the only player who seemed to find success against the Iroquois, scoring four goals in the rout.
Canada 18, United States 7
Tuesday's action ended with a less-expected blowout as the three-time defending champions Canada made easy work of the three-time bronze medalists United States.
The Lacrosse Network has a look at the game's highlights:
Ryan Benesch led Canada with five goals while Dhane Smith added three goals and four assists. Canada was much more efficient with their offense, scoring their 18 goals on 58 shots. The United States on the other hand threw 70 toward the Canadian cage, but Matt Vinc made 37 saves on the day for the defending champions.
Canada improves to 3-0 in the tournament and don't have a lot of downtime as they take on England on Wednesday.
Kevin Buchanan's hat-trick was not enough for the United States, who drop to 2-2 at the WILC.
