ESPN College GameDay Headed to UCLA vs. Arizona for Week 4

Justin FergusonSep 20, 2015

After visiting a wild divisional matchup between ranked opponents this past weekend, ESPN's College GameDay will be on site for a similar Week 4 showdown out West: UCLA vs. Arizona.

ESPN's popular pregame show announced Sunday morning it will be heading to Tucson, Arizona for the Pac-12 South game between undefeated UCLA and undefeated Arizona.

According to Zack Rosenblatt of the Arizona Daily Star, this will be GameDay's first visit to Tucson since 2009, when Arizona hosted No. 11 Oregon. The Ducks won the game, which included a premature field-storming by Arizona fans, in two overtimes.

Saturday's game between the Bruins and the Wildcats, which will be televised starting at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. local on ABC, is the conference opener for both teams.

UCLA is coming off a comeback home victory over BYU in which the Bruins outscored their opponents 14-6 in the final quarter to pull off the 24-23 win. Star linebacker Myles Jack denied BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum of another last-minute touchdown with a game-sealing interception.

"We had to overcome a lot to win that game tonight. There was a lot of adversity," UCLA head coach Jim Mora said, per Bleacher Report's Bryan Fischer. "We had to overcome one of our players getting ejected from the game, three interceptions and one allowed onside kick. But we just stuck to what we feel like we do well, which is run the football and get after the passer."

UCLA RB Paul Perkins

UCLA is led offensively by true freshman quarterback Josh Rosen and junior running back Paul Perkins. While Rosen struggled with three interceptions against BYU, Perkins ran for 219 yards on 26 carries for the Bruins.

Perkins will be a true test for Arizona's defense, which has only allowed 3.23 yards per carry in its first three games of the season.

And after struggling to find top gear in its season opener against UTSA, Arizona's offense came alive in back-to-back wins over Nevada and Northern Arizona.

Arizona QB Anu Solomon

On Saturday night, quarterback Anu Solomon, running back Nick Wilson and the rest of the Wildcats overcame a slow start to hang 77 points and 792 yards on the FCS-level Lumberjacks.

Now, facing a streak of three straight losses to UCLA, the defending Pac-12 South champions are looking for some revenge Saturday night with a major home victory over the Bruins.

"We are really excited," Arizona senior wide receiver David Richards said, per the program's website. "We know how much that game means to us. I think we have to go out there and get that victory. We haven’t gotten that victory in a couple of years, and I think that’s what the program needs to take it to the next level."
