Kliff Kingsbury Rips Bret Bielema After Texas Tech's Upset Win over Arkansas
Arkansas was handed a second straight loss by an unranked opponent Saturday, and Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury decided to give Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema a piece of his mind following the Red Raiders' 35-24 win.
According to the Associated Press' Kurt Voigt, Kingsbury took exception to snide comments Bielema made regarding the spread offense this summer when speaking to a group of high school coaches.
"(Bielema) stood up and said if you don't throw to the fullback, we'll kick your (butt), and if you throw it 70 times a game, we'll kick your (butt)," Kingsbury told reporters following the win, per Voigt. "(Bielema) just got his (butt) kicked twice in a row and probably next week by (Texas) A&M as well."

The Texas Tech boss didn't stop there.
"To walk in there and say those (things), it definitely rubbed me the wrong way," Kingsbury said, per Voigt. "He's a prideful guy, and he says what's on his mind, but it just hasn't worked out for him."
On Monday, Bielema responded, courtesy of Bo Mattingly of SportsTalkWithBo.com and Thomas Murphy of ArkansasOnline.com:
Following a 48-13 season-opening victory over UTEP, Arkansas has regressed in ways that were previously unimaginable. As if letting Texas Tech pile up 486 yards of total offense weren't bad enough, the Razorbacks were coming off of a shocking 16-12 loss at home to Toledo.
The losses are bad in a vacuum. They're much worse when painted in the context of Bielema's comments about Ohio State's schedule.
"I'm sitting there watching the other day—the Monday night game—and I spent a lot of time in that other conference," Bielema said following Week 1, according to Bleacher Report's Barrett Sallee. "Ohio State's ranked No. 1 and they have one game remaining on their schedule against anybody ranked right now—Michigan State. I look at it, and we're going to play eight opponents that are ranked."
Arkansas has now lost back-to-back games against unranked teams and still has all eight games against those ranked teams remaining.
Next up for the Razorbacks? How about a neutral-site clash with Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium before traveling to Neyland Stadium for a road meeting with the Tennessee Volunteers? As if that stretch weren't challenging enough, Arkansas will follow up its meeting with the Vols by traveling to Tuscaloosa for a showdown with Alabama.
In other words, a 1-5 start isn't out of the realm of possibility.
