FIFA 16: The 10 Top-Ranked Players in Women's Teams
The introduction of women's international teams was a necessary and long-overdue step in FIFA 16.
While club representations are yet to be included in EA Sports' series, the inclusion of female stars for the first time underlines the growing popularity of women's football.
Fresh from a fantastic 2015 World Cup—won by the United States—FIFA 16's debut female ratings are based solely on international matches.
If you're a USWNT fan, this Top 10 may be for you...
10. Becky Sauerbrunn, United States
1 of 10
Overall Rating: 86
Position: CB
Becky Sauerbrunn is the only defender to make the Top-10-ranked female players on FIFA 16. The 30-year-old centre-back's game is completely tailored toward crushing those in front of her.
Her aggression (84), interceptions (85), jumping (84), reactions (85), strength (86) and marking (87) stats make her one of the most physically dominant stars on the game.
She's also no slouch with decent pace (73), making her an absolute brick wall in the heart of the United States' defence.
9. Lotta Schelin, Sweden
2 of 10
Overall Rating: 87
Position: ST
Tremendous physical stats and speed make Lotta Schelin a unique threat.
Few boast such a combination of strength (88), pace (89) and finishing (90). At 5'10" tall, Schelin is also of a height which allows her to overpower defenders using her body.
If women are ever included on Ultimate Team, we can expect Schelin to follow in the footsteps of fellow Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a striker who rarely shows any weaknesses on the game.
8. Hope Solo, United States
3 of 10
Overall Rating: 87
Position: GK
Hope Solo's positioning (85), handling (85) and reflexes (87) are second to none in the women's game, succumbing only to Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer (90 overall) across the entire title.
She is ranked one point ahead of David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois, and is the next inclusion which highlights the solid core the USWNT have enjoyed in recent times.
Solo is the only goalkeeper to make the list and is one point clear of Germany's Nadine Angerer, the next-best women's stopper.
7. Marta, Brazil
4 of 10
Overall Rating: 88
Positions: ST/CAM
Arguably the most-recognisable face in the women's game, Marta offers technical brilliance, creativity and astuteness in front of goal.
The five-time FIFA World Player of the Year keeps possession at her feet, moving quickly to help push her team forward.
Marta's ball control (89), dribbling (91) and finishing (88) means when the ball sticks, the opposition are likely to face a major problem.
Adding in her agility (88) and balance (90) only serves to show exactly why the 29-year-old Brazilian has dominated the sport for years.
6. Christine Sinclair, Canada
5 of 10
Overall Rating: 88
Positions: ST/LW/RW/CAM
Christine Sinclair is a natural leader, someone who can push her team-mates through difficult situations.
All of her passing and shooting skills are in the 80s, but be wary of her standing (17) and sliding tackles (14) if you opt to play her in midfield.
Sinclair is built to smash her way through defences and is best utilised as the figurehead of an energetic Canadian side.
5. Nadine Kessler, Germany
6 of 10
Overall Rating: 89
Position: CM
Nadine Kessler is the current FIFA Women's World Player of the Year. She has won the German Bundesliga and Champions League three times, not to mention the European Championships.
Unfortunately, the central midfielder missed Germany's 2015 World Cup stint through injury, per DW Sports.
Kessler's only out-field stats under 70 are her marking (68) and jumping (69), but both of these can be improved if you take manual control of her from set-pieces.
The Wolfsburg star's vision (88), reactions (91) passing (88-rated long, 90-rated short) and finishing (87) make her a dynamite in offensive positions.
4. Louisa Necib, France
7 of 10
Overall Rating: 90
Positions: LM/CAM
Louisa Necib, like Alex Morgan of the United States, naturally puts defenders on to the back foot with her close ball control (92), dribbling (90) and acceleration (85).
With a four-star rated weak foot, she's also immensely useful when cutting in from the left flank.
Necib can be stationed through the middle and is able to execute accurate short passes (91) without a second thought. Her finishing (76) leaves a little to be desired, but as an out-and-out creative force there are few better.
3. Abby Wambach, United States
8 of 10
Overall Rating: 90
Position: ST
Few players deserved the 2015 Women's World Cup victory like Abby Wambach. The 35-year-old is a legend of the American game and someone who, despite her decreasing on-field influence, was due to get her hands on the famous trophy.
Wambach's game is built on strong physical play and keeping control of the ball.
Her strength (94), finishing (93), shot power (86) and heading accuracy (91) makes her a ceaseless threat on FIFA 16, especially now crosses are overpowered.
2. Megan Rapinoe, United States
9 of 10
Overall Rating: 90
Positions: LM/CM
Megan Rapinoe is one of those rare players who can land the ball on a coin from the other side of the pitch. Think David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Andrea Pirlo.
She provided two goals and two assists at the 2015 World Cup, per ESPN FC.
Her technical and distribution skills are absolutely superb on this year's game, summed up by a handful of key stats: ball control (91), dribbling (92), crossing (94), long passing (91) and short passing (93).
Rapinoe is also versatile, making her an important figure in the USWNT's recent success.
1. Carli Lloyd, United States
10 of 10
Overall Rating: 91
Positions: CM/CAM/LM/ST
Carli Lloyd enjoyed the kind of World Cup people can only dream about, scoring six goals and providing three assists, per ESPN FC.
Her 16-minute hat-trick in the final win over Japan was also notable for Lloyd rounding off her scoring with a goal from the halfway line.
Nate Scott of USA Today even called the 33-year-old's display, "the best individual performance in a World Cup final ever." It's extremely difficult to argue against this.
Lloyd only possesses one non-goalkeeping stat under 70 (64-rated volleys). She is incredibly well-rounded and versatile, flaunting both attacking and defensive instincts.
Her interceptions (90), attacking positioning (90), stamina (92), dribbling (86), short passing (88), long shots (89) and standing tackle (86) highlight the do-it all attitude she takes into every game.
