FIFA 16: Top 10 Fastest Ultimate Team Players

Nick AkermanSep 23, 2015

"Pace" is forbidden word for many FIFA 16 Ultimate Team lovers.

EA Sports has worked hard to curb the influence a rapid turn of speed has in this year's game, but after season upon season of pace being a simple exploit, many FUT players will still turn to those who can get their legs moving at a mind-blowing rate.

With that in mind, here's a rundown of the fastest players (see: most annoying).

The ranking criteria is simple: overall pace is considered first, but in the event of a tie, sprint speed is then prioritised over acceleration to make the difference.

10. Salif Dianda (RM), Ternana

1 of 10

Overall pace: 93

Sprint Speed: 95

Acceleration: 91

Salif Dianda's overall rating of 66 is his worst ever on FUT, dropping one point from the two previous years. However, his pace is now up three points on FUT15 and a massive eight points on the year before that.

At 27 years old, it's fair to say the right-midfielder is unlikely to get any quicker, but for players who want to build a Serie B/Italian silver team, he's going to be a popular choice. His high attacking and medium defensive work-rates also ensure he's useful at both ends of the pitch.

9. Innocent Emeghara (ST), San Jose Earthquakes

2 of 10

Overall Pace: 94

Sprint Speed: 93

Acceleration: 95

If Innocent Emeghara is guilty of one thing, it's becoming an obvious go-to star for FUT16 players who like to exploit pace without dropping the overall quality of their selection. As a 74-rated silver, he is right at the top of the tree for this level of play.

Those who like to focus on pace can have a tendency to choose players who are faster but lack other notable qualities. With gold-rated finishing (76), terrific agility (91) and jumping (92), Emeghara is excellent for making a complete mockery of ailing defences.

=8. Ryo Miyaichi (LW), Fahad Al-Muwallad (LM), Dominic Oduro (ST)

3 of 10

Overall Pace: 94

Sprint Speed: 94

Acceleration: 93

Here we have a triple-whammy of speedsters who enjoy identical stats on FUT16. Ryo Miyaichi (St. Pauli) was once of Arsenal fame, but he never managed to regularly break into Arsene Wenger's team. His silver card is rated 69 and remains in danger of being demoted to bronze in the next couple of years.

Fahad Al-Muwallad is another left-sided player and currently plays for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Arabian league. His 70-rated card improved on last year's debut rating by three points, and at 21 years old, he promises to be a future gold.

Dominic Oduro of Montreal Impact, in true Emeghara style, returns with another 64-rated card to make him a firm favourite in the bronze game.

7. Jonathan Biabiany (RW), Inter Milan

4 of 10

Overall Pace: 94

Sprint Speed: 94

Acceleration: 94

Jonathan Biabiany is one of those players who enjoys far more success on FUT than he does in real life.

The 27-year-old first joined Inter Milan in 2004, but he only received a handful of appearances amid loan spells elsewhere and a permanent transfer away from the club in 2011. He returned to Inter following his release from Parma in 2015 after the latter were declared bankrupt.

As a fast-paced, 78-rated Frenchman who plays in Serie A, Biabiany makes it easy to build hybrid teams. Link him up with Loic Remy (90 rated-pace) and Ignazio Abate (92-rated pace) to become the ultimate online annoyance.

6. Gareth Bale (RM), Real Madrid

5 of 10

Overall Pace: 94

Sprint Speed: 95

Acceleration: 93

Gareth Bale is a little-known player who represents a little-known club.

Both on the weekend and during the week, he can be seen trying to replicate his Wales form in the Spanish capital, while frustrated match-goers criticise his every move. Sometimes he does good things. But not as good as that Portuguese bloke.

Right?

5. Ernest Asante (RM), Stabaek IF

6 of 10

Overall Pace: 95

Sprint Speed: 95

Acceleration: 94

Ernest Asante is not only frighteningly quick, he also possesses high attacking and low defensive work-rates.

Essentially, this means even if he offered the speed of an overfilled wardrobe, he would remain far enough up the pitch to make a difference in the opposition's box.

A defensive-minded full-back is certainly key to ensuring Asante's wing doesn't become an obvious route for the opposition to make counter-attacks, though.

=4. Pele (ST), Jurgen Damm (RM)

7 of 10

Overall Pace: 95

Sprint Speed: 95

Acceleration: 95

Pele (Santos, New York Cosmos) and Jurgen Damm (Tigres UANL) are not mentioned in the same sentence often. The former is a Brazilian icon, a World Cup winner and one of the sport's greatest players. The latter recently received his first call-up for the Mexican national team and looks to have a bright future ahead.

However, both are brought together by the fact they would remain neck-and-neck in a footrace. Although, Damm would probably beat the 74-year-old these days.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST), Borussia Dortmund

8 of 10

Overall Pace: 95

Sprint Speed: 95

Acceleration: 96

There is only one reason to build a team around a striker from Gabon in FUT16: pace. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started last year's game as a right-sided midfielder, but he has been a constant nuisance ever since his first in-form striker variation dropped.

Throw in the fact he links perfectly with Adrian Ramos—who, for some reason, is always insanely good on FIFA—and a well-known recipe for goals is concocted.

2. Theo Walcott (RM), Arsenal

9 of 10

Overall Pace: 96

Sprint Speed: 96

Acceleration: 95

Theo Walcott continues to struggle with the task of permanently ousting Olivier Giroud from the Arsenal side. He'll no doubt be disappointed by beginning FUT16 in right-midfield and away from the striker position he so badly wants.

Although Hector Bellerin recently broke Walcott's 40-yard dash record in north London, the latter's overall pace is still five points faster than his colleague on FUT16.

Let's not forget, Walcott once gained a 86-rated in-form on FUT12 that flaunted a pace rating of 98; faster than the speed of light.

1. Mathis Bolly (RM), Fortuna Dusseldorf

10 of 10

Overall Pace: 96

Sprint Speed: 96

Acceleration: 97

Just edging ahead of Walcott is Mathis Bolly, a 67-rated Ivorian, who is the quickest player on the game with all things considered.

Although Walcott often receives the FIFA headlines because he's a more-recognised star, Bolly has actually remained the quickest player on FUT since FIFA 14.

He is well built at 6'0" and more than capable of contributing along the wing with his high attacking and medium defensive work-rates.

Although his overall pace has dropped one point this year, Bolly is once again the 'King of Sweat,' a title he doesn't look set to give up anytime soon.
