Wayne Rooney Out for PSV vs. Manchester United, Anthony Martial Start Expected
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney will miss the Red Devils' Champions League group-stage clash against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday, as he is still struggling with a hamstring injury.
In the Englishman's absence, French striker Anthony Martial is reportedly set to make his first start for United following his telling contribution from the bench in Saturday's 3-1 win against Liverpool, per David McDonnell of the Mirror.
The Old Trafford outfit confirmed the squad travelling to the Netherlands to face PSV on Tuesday, and Rooney is not in the group of 20:

He was also absent from the squad that faced Liverpool after picking up a hamstring injury in training.
It is clear that United are not rushing the 29-year-old back into action, although manager Louis van Gaal did previously indicate that Rooney could be fit for Sunday's trip to Southampton in the Premier League, per the club's Twitter feed.

While Rooney's absence is a big blow ahead of the Red Devils' first Champions League group-stage match since 2013, Martial could be the benefactor.
The 19-year-old came off the bench to score United's vital third goal against the Reds on his debut.
Per Bleacher Report's Andy Brassell, United's £36 million outlay for Martial was widely questioned when they signed him in the summer from Monaco, but he made a great start to his Old Trafford career at the weekend and could have another opportunity to prove himself against PSV:
Martial and fellow 19-year-old James Wilson are the only genuine strikers Van Gaal can call upon with Rooney injured.
The Dutchman played Marouane Fellaini up front against Liverpool, but the Belgian was largely ineffective.
Another consideration for Van Gaal will be whether to start Memphis Depay against his former club after the 21-year-old was taken off at half-time on Saturday after a poor display, per WhoScored.com:
Memphis moved to United from PSV over the summer for £31 million after scoring 22 goals in an Eredivisie-winning 2014-15 campaign, per BBC Sport.
He has had a mixed start to life in Manchester, but his strong performances in the two-legged Champions League playoff against Club Brugge could see Van Gaal keep his compatriot in the starting XI on Tuesday.
PSV could then be facing two of the United stars of the future in Martial and Memphis, but the duo will be under pressure to perform as the Red Devils return once more to Champions League action.
