'Aggie Dog' Served at Texas A&M's Kyle Field Equal Parts Delicious, Disgusting
As Texas A&M's Kyle Field has gotten bigger, so too has its food selection at Aggies football games.
Saturday's home opener against the Ball State Cardinals will be the first time fans can sink their teeth into some new menu items, including one that probably will eliminate the need to stuff your face during pregame tailgating.
That monstrosity at the beginning of the video is the "Aggie Dog," a 4-foot, 12-pound hot dog covered in enough toppings to constitute a meal of its own.
"It might take the better part of an offensive line to put that thing away," Dan Lyons of CollegeSpun.com wrote.
The Aggie Dog is available to fans sitting in the new club seats and luxury suites, one of the major changes to Kyle Field as part of a renovation that included expanding the capacity to 102,733, making it the largest stadium in the SEC by just 57 seats more than the Tennessee Volunteers' Neyland Stadium.
The Aggie Dog was created by the school's Aggie Hospitality executive chef, David Picou, though it's not the only new thing to nosh on at Kyle Field. Picou's smoked brisket is available at concession stands, and there are now more than twice as many places to purchase food and drinks inside the stadium, according to Craig Kaufman of Populous.com.
Here's another look at the Aggie Dog, in case you want to make this your screen saver or are on a diet where looking at pictures of food counts as eating.
