Patrick Kane Grand Jury Hearing Expected to Be Rescheduled
The grand jury investigating Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane's alleged sexual assault will reportedly be rescheduled.
Kane's attorney, Paul Cambria, told Jared S. Hopkins and Stacy St. Clair of the Chicago Tribune that the New York grand jury is "expected" to continue the investigation soon.
On Sept. 8, citing two sources, Lou Michel of the Buffalo News reported the investigation may have been delayed because of "the possibility of ongoing settlement talks between attorneys for Kane and the alleged victim."

Cambria said in the report he was not the one who requested the postponement of the original grand jury investigation.
"We were informed that it (the grand jury) was rescheduled," Cambria told the Chicago Tribune.
The Buffalo News' Dan Herbeck and Tim Graham reported on Aug. 9 that Kane was the target of an investigation into allegations of sexual assault by a woman who lives in Buffalo.
The Blackhawks will open training camp on Sept. 18 at the Notre Dame campus, roughly around the time period the grand jury will reportedly resume. There hasn't been a decision on whether Kane will attend camp.
Team spokesman Brandon Faber told the Chicago Tribune he "doesn't have an answer" when asked about Kane's status.
Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reported the Blackhawks have received calls from a handful of teams about possibly trading for Kane if the team decides to deal him.
However, ESPN.com's Scott Powers reported Chicago has not asked Kane to waive his no-trade clause.
Kane has established himself as one of the NHL's best players, making the All-Star team four times in eight seasons and scoring 557 points in 576 career games. The Blackhawks have won three Stanley Cups since 2010 with him as one of their marquee players.
There's no denying the value Kane has to the Blackhawks on the ice, but given the serious allegations he is facing, it will be in everyone's best interest for the grand jury investigation to finish before a decision about his playing status is discussed.
