Manchester United Transfer News: James Wilson Loan Exit Considered, Top Rumours
James Wilson is likely to be loaned out by Manchester United after the arrival of Anthony Martial, with 20 clubs said to be in the running to take the England Under-21 starlet.
Simon Jones of the Daily Mail writes Derby County were front-runners to sign the prolific youngster, but a host of teams have come knocking at the Old Trafford door for his services.
The 19-year-old will fall further down the pecking order at United after the purchase of Frenchman Martial, and Wilson is in desperate need of first-team football—something the Red Devils cannot offer.

Jones says United had been prepared to allow the player to leave before the end of the transfer window, in preparation for a permanent move, but a rethink by Louis van Gaal lead the manager to reassure Wilson he had a future at the club.
Wilson has accumulated just 17 minutes of playing time under LVG since February, per Jones, and the writing appeared to be on the wall for the teenager. Wilson has been considered United's brightest youth product over the past couple of years, but he has found it impossible to get starts in the first team, despite the club's lack of No. 9s.
However, Wilson recently made his England Under-21 debut from the bench against the USA, and displayed his predatory instinct, per blogger Sam Peoples:
There has been a resistance from United fans to see the player leave on loan, but he is wasted on the Old Trafford bench and needs minutes.
Football writer Offside Liam thinks Van Gaal might be making a huge mistake with his prodigy:
Wilson is a kid with the world at his feet, and United's record and values in youth development mean he is well placed. However, Van Gaal will punish any player that doesn't fit his philosophy, and Wilson has gone from first-team hopeful to nowhere in just one season.
Aldridge Believes United Sabotaged De Gea Deal
Liverpool legend and football pundit John Aldridge has said he thinks United might have deliberately sabotaged David De Gea's transfer to Real Madrid, as they had the most to gain with the deal falling through.
Speaking in his column for the Sunday World, the former striker believes there is a level of foul play on United's side, and says the goalkeeper will be vital in the Red Devils' upcoming match against Liverpool:
"The best news for United on deadline day was the collapse of the deal for keeper David De Gea to move to Real Madrid, because the continued presence of the keeper that gave them a big step up into the top four last season can only help their cause. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone at Old Trafford pulled the plug on the de Gea deal, because they were the big winners from that fiasco.
"

Aldridge also describes Martial as a "panic buy," saying no team should pay £36 million for "a teenager most of us have never heard of from Monaco."
Aldridge's words might be based on inter-club rivalries, but United will benefit hugely if De Gea stays at United and signs a new deal.
Rob Dawson of the Mirror reports De Gea is ready to play for United, with Spain boss Vicente del Bosque saying the goalkeeper is ready to resume his Old Trafford career.
De Gea was a player United could ill afford to lose this season, and Sergio Romero's performance against Swansea City unequivocally proved this point.
DDG grabbed 11 clean sheets in the Premier League last season, per Squawka.com, and it is a position LVG can't experiment with if he wants to win trophies.
Wilson will not be a loss to United in the short term, as his first-team contributions have been minimal, but he has the talent to be an international striker and form part of a successful forward line. A loan move will show off his best attributes and get Van Gaal enthused about developing the boy once again.
