USA vs. Gilas Pilipinas: Time, Live Stream for 2015 William Jones Cup
The Philippines will be playing its 10th game in the past 17 days Saturday when it takes on USA Select-Overtake in the 2015 William Jones Cup. Both teams are coming off impressive showings Friday, which points toward a highly competitive clash.
Although the Gilas Pilipinas are still working to find top form, they have showcased notable progress during the tournament after a winless showing in the Toyota Four Nations Cup. Head coach Tab Baldwin will hope that trend continues against a pesky American squad.
Let's check out all of the important information for the Day 8 matchup. That's followed by a preview and game prediction as the event winds to its conclusion Sunday.

Preview

The Philippines trailed by 10 at halftime and seven heading into the fourth quarter against New Zealand before storming back to win in overtime Friday. The sustained offensive success late (40 points in the fourth and OT) is something that's been missing over the past three weeks.
Baldwin explained afterward that there were no major changes to spark the comeback, per Musong R. Castillo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Rather, the team just put in the necessary work to fight their way back into the game.
"There's no magic in basketball, it was just all hard work for us," Baldwin said.
A similar performance will be necessary against a USA Select-Overtake side that's been one of the tournament's toughest teams to figure out.
While the Americans own a lackluster 3-3 record, they are the only team that's scored a victory over Iran so far in the event. They also come off a 95-69 blowout victory over Chinese Taipei's White Team, their top scoring output of the tournament.
Along with Select-Overtake's strong play, the Philippines remains without a key piece of of its roster. Andray Blatche returned to the U.S. for a family matter, and after originally thinking he may return for the latter stage of the event, Carlo Pamintuan of Slam PH notes that's no longer the case:
The Americans have been the toughest team to predict in the tournament. At times they play like world-beaters and in other instances they look completely overmatched. It's important for the Philippines to enter the game with an aggressive mindset to keep Select-Overtake from finding a rhythm.
Gilas Pilipinas continue to make the necessary improvements as they tune up for the FIBA Asia Championship. Their improved play on the defensive end is the most vital difference from the struggles in the Toyota Four Nations Cup, and should carry them to a narrow win Saturday.
Prediction: Philippines 78, USA Select-Overtake 72
