WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Sunny, Wyatt Family and More
WWE's reported feelings about Hall of Famer Sunny and its potential plans for The Wyatt Family headline the latest batch of rumors.
Sunny (Tammy Sytch) found herself in the WWE news cycle thanks to a report concerning what the company allegedly thinks about her newest business venture. The former manager of Legion of Doom and The Bodydonnas has read said report and clearly isn't pleased with it.
As for The Wyatt Family rumor, it centers on the possibility of Bray Wyatt welcoming another follower to his clan.

In other stories, a backstage report offers a glimpse into WWE's mindset about a recent shooting at the Performance Center, and there is word about what officials have in mind for an NXT prospect set to arrive before long.
The week's collection of rumors is a varied and strange one. The following is a look at each of these items in an attempt to make sense of them and figure out what to believe and what to dismiss.
Sunny in Hot Water?
Sunny, whom WWE.com called "one of the most popular females to ever set foot in the ring," could have a strained relationship with the company.
A report from F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc) said as much. It noted that WWE officials are not happy with Sunny right now, mentioning her private Skype sessions with fans.
Sunny responded to the report in a Facebook post: "Why the hell should I be concerned with what their opinion is on my career choice, if they are not concerned in the least bit with my financial well-being and stability and ability to pay my living expenses?"
Elsewhere in the post, she was dismissive of the report but didn't deny it.
One imagines that WWE can't be thrilled with the sultry photos she posts on Twitter or her intimate Skype sessions, but then again, she's not creating the kind of controversy and bad press that other former stars have.
Racially charged remarks have led to WWE's blacklisting Hulk Hogan, as covered by The Big Lead and other outlets. Chyna has previously done porn and claimed that Triple H abused her. Triple H has since called the allegations "false" and "reckless" in an official statement (h/t ProWrestling.net).
The point is that WWE has far more serious issues to deal with when it comes to the public image of its former wrestlers. With that in mind, what Sunny does on Skype is surely low on the list of priorities, if it's being discussed at all.
Backstage Word on Shooting at WWE Performance Center
A shocking story emerged as the week began. Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings announced, as reported by News 6 in Orlando, Florida, that "A 29-year-old 'deranged' man was shot after charging at an Orange County deputy at the WWE Performance Center parking lot Monday afternoon."
As more details in the unsettling situation came to light, a backstage report pointed to how WWE has responded.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported, "Internally, WWE sent out word that absolutely no one should comment about the incident yesterday at the WWE Performance Center publicly via social media or if they are asked. WWE wants any information to come from the local authorities."
That is more than plausible. In the age of social media, off-color comments go viral in a flash. WWE would surely like to move on from the ugly incident and not have its name continue to be mentioned in these stories.
Rumored Plans for NXT Diva
Recent editions of NXT have featured glimpses of a women's wrestler closing in on her debut.
Fans haven't seen much of Nia Jax from these clips yet, but a recent rumor may offer a hint of what to expect. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestle Zone), WWE plans to have Jax be a dominant monster-type character, much like Awesome Kong is in TNA.
Jax is a powerful, intimidating performer who dwarfs the majority of the women's division. It would be shocking if WWE had anything other than a monster heel run in mind for her.
That role would play to her strengths. It's also something both the NXT and WWE women's divisions lack. Of all the WWE stories floating around now, this is the one where no grain of salt is required.
The Wyatt Family to Keep Growing?
Braun Strowman recently crawled out of the darkness to battle alongside Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Many figured that it was WWE's way of making up for Erick Rowan's absence while he is injured, but the expansion of The Wyatt Family might not be over.
According the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), WWE has discussed adding another member to the crew by having someone play the character Sister Abigail, whom Wyatt has mentioned in promos several times.
Wyatt's gimmick of a sinister-but-charismatic cult leader makes it easy to add followers to his flock. Even if this Sister Abigail was a wrestler few fans knew, there would be some familiarity with her thanks to how much Wyatt has talked about her in the past.
Still, don't count on this happening. For one, the report merely says that WWE discussed the idea. The company surely tosses out a good number of ideas that are tossed around in the writer's room.
Secondly, WWE may be hesitant to mess with the crew's chemistry right now. It just added Strowman, and Rowan will be back before long. Adding another member, especially a female, would change the dynamic of the group in a major way.
