Little League World Series 2015: Japan vs. Red Land Championship Predictions
Saturday's United States and international championship games required walk-off wins to set up Sunday's 2015 Little League World Series final, and it feels safe to say drama will define the tournament's ultimate clash between Japan and Pennsylvania.
But before we break down what figures to be a compelling clash, here's a look at all the viewing information you need for Sunday's showdown.
When: Sunday, August 29
Where: Williamsport, Pennsylvania
Time: 3 p.m. ET
TV: ABC

Sunday's big storyline revolves around past championship trends. Pennsylvania is hoping to snap a 25-year title drought, while Japan is seeking its 10th Little League World series title, per ESPN Stats & Info. The only country (excluding the United States) to reach more championships in Little League World history, according to ESPN Stats & Info, is Chinese Taipei.
Additionally, Japan has won three of the last five Little League World Series titles and lost in the 2011 championship game after capturing another international belt.
And if Japan is going to add to its impressive trophy case, it will need to lean on its strong pitching and disciplined fielding to shut down another opponent.
Entering Sunday's title game, Japan has allowed fewer than five runs in each of its four Little League World Series appearances. More impressive is that the international champs have allowed five runs combined over their last three games, including a 1-0 shutout of Mexico on Saturday.
Despite tallying just two hits against Mexico, Japan was able to strand all four of the opposition's baserunners in order to squeak out an extra-innings victory.
Japan will need to flash similar efficiency against Pennsylvania.
Red Land has cooled down, scoring three runs in each of its past two games, but it rolled its first two opponents by scoring 27 runs combined during those outings.
After Pennsylvania downed the Pearland West little leaguers, 3-2, on Saturday, Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen tweeted some words of encouragement for the United States champions:
Even though emotions figure to be running high with immortality on the line, both sides have experienced tremendous success that they won't forget anytime soon.
"These kids just get pure joy out of this," said Dennis Lewin, Little League board member, according to PennLive.com's John Beauge. "It's what life should be all about."
When play finally gets underway, Japan and Pennsylvania should be in for a low-scoring affair, because while Pennsylvania packs more punch at the plate, Japan has been tremendous on the mound.
That said, something's got to give. And considering Pennsylvania has posted two shutouts in four games and allowed just two runs over its last two contests, its well-rounded roster should have a slight upper hand.
"The Red Land team has been the most complete team in the 2015 LLWS," Bleacher Report's Adam Wells wrote. "It's a fundamentally sound group with just two errors in four games, and it has dominant pitching and a powerful offense led by the best home run hitter playing."
Japan's command on the bump will keep the game tight throughout, but Pennsylvania will be aided by just a bit more firepower when the tournament comes to a close.
Prediction: Red Land def. Japan, 4-3
