Tajh Boyd to Saskatchewan Roughriders: Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
On the same day the Pittsburgh Steelers signed a new quarterback in Michael Vick, a former Steeler quarterback is making a move north of the border, according to 247Sports' JC Shurburtt:
The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) are 0-8 this season with injuries running rampant up and down their roster, including the loss of quarterbacks Darian Durant and Kevin Glenn, according to Murray McCormick of the Regina Leader-Post.
They'll look to the stellar collegiate career of Boyd to try to right their ship, as he does not have much to provide on the professional level.
After being selected in 2014 by the New York Jets out of Clemson University, where he racked up 11,904 yards and 107 touchdowns, Boyd did not appear in an NFL game last season, as he was unable to find any playing time behind Geno Smith, Michael Vick and Matt Simms. He joined the Steelers in the offseason but was released in August after not creating a competition with third-stringer Landry Jones.
