Recap

Pedro made quite the impression on his Chelsea debut, despite the match being played in dreadful conditions at the Hawthorns. With the rain puring down, the pitch played relatively slow, but it didn't seem to bother the Blues one bit.
West Brom could have opened the score after 14 minutes, but Thibaut Courtois made a stunning save with his legs to deny James Morrison from the penalty spot. Minutes later, Pedro finished a quick counter move thanks to a lucky deflection, and he added an assist soon after, laying the ball off to compatriot Diego Costa.
As shared by Sky Sports' official Twitter account, the former Barcelona star was pleased with his debut:
Morrison made up for his earlier miss by reducing the deficit to a single goal, but Cesar Azpilicueta restored Chelsea's lead just before half-time. At this point, the Blues appeared to be cruising, and their first win of the season already seemed to be in the bag.
But similar to the match against Swansea City, a single moment of madness turned the match on its head. John Terry pulled back Salomon Rondon just after half-time, and he was promptly given his marching orders, as Mark Clattenburg deemed him to be the last defender.
Manager Jose Mourinho preferred not to answer questions regarding the sending-off, and instead focused on praising his players:
Via Sky Sports Football, even the pundits couldn't agree on the decision:
Morrison soon added a second goal to bring his team within one, but even down a man, Chelsea had the better chances to put the match away. Courtois had to produce one final big save in injury time to preserve the win, but overall, the defending champions survived the battle at the Hawthorns quite comfortably.
Aleksandar Kolarov broke the deadlock before Samir Nasri secured Manchester City's 2-0 win over Everton, preserving the Citizens' perfect start to the season.
The full-back took full advantage of a mistake from Tim Howard, who allowed the ball to squeeze by him at the near post.
Former professional footballer Didi Hamann acknowledged the beautiful build-up play that went into the goal but still laid the blame with Howard:
Nasri added an insurance goal late in the match, making sure there would be no late-match heroics from the home side at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, Watford are quickly becoming the kings of the draw, playing out a third consecutive stalemate with Southampton.
Arsenal and Liverpool will meet in Week 3's most anticipated clash on Monday, with both clubs trying to improve on an inconsistent start to the season. The Reds have won both their matches but have yet to fully convince, especially in front of goal, while Arsenal will look for their first complete performance of the campaign.
